Bari-Uma Ramen is a ramen noodle restaurant located in Jaya Shopping Centre. A good bowl of ramen is all about the soup and the noodles. All the other ingredients and garnishes that comes with it also plays an important part too but it wouldn’t be enough if not for the soup and noodle.
Bari-Uma Ramen paid a lot of attention in improving and refining their soup to what it is today. The soup itself is made from ingredients such as soy sauce, miso, salt, pork bones and various other ingredients. There are three types of soup that you can choose here – shoyu, light shoyu or spicy.
For me, I simply prefer less salt in my meal. So I had their Ajitama-Uma @ RM25.90 – ramen with thick flavourful light shoyu broth which comes with thick-cut flamed chashu, egg and bamboo shoots. It may look a little oily here because there is pork in it, but it was okay.
The Chicken Ramen (Tori Ajitama-Uma) @ RM21.90 was much lighter. Love the broth. The chicken was tender and soft. It was simply delicious.
We also had a side dish – Yakitori-Tori Combo (assorted grilled skewered chicken and pork) @ RM15.90. The pork yakitori was good because it was cooked with some fat in it but not the chicken yakitori.
Bari-Uma Ramen claims makes their own ramen fresh everyday. They also have some very bold declaration that they are no. 1 in serving the richest pork flavoured soup topped with thick-cut flamed chashu. Not only that, they also pride themselves with their good service.
Based on my dining experience that evening, I think that they actually did a pretty good job keeping up with the bariuma spirit.
