Mobile food truck is not new in Malaysia. But a mobile cafe serving coffee on-the-go is something new. According a the staff at Mossy Mobile Cafe, this mobile cafe does not originate from Chiangmai or Thailand for that matter. It is a new brand born in Malaysia. Only the premium coffee beans are brought from Chiangmai, Thailand.
There are many different types of coffee available here. Espresso. Cappuccino. Latte. With ice or no ice. You name it, they have it.
This may sound weird.
But – How to Get Yourself a Cool Refreshing Coffee?
Since coffee falls under the category of heaty food, it is unusual to get a cool and refreshing coffee. But apparently Mossy Mobile Café is offering a coconut based coffee called the Coolpuccino at RM12.50. This looks like the normal average cappuccino but it sure doesn’t taste like one. It has a mild and sweet coconut flavour to it. It was quite cooling compared to the normal ice blended cappucino coffee.
We also ordered Mossy’s favourite, the Thaipuccino at RM13.50. You may think that the prefix of this word, “Thai” may have something to do with Thai food. But no. This is definitely not a tom yum flavoured coffee drink. As it contains lots of chocolate, it tasted similar to ice blended mocha.
Again, according to the same Mossy Mobile Cafe’s staff, there currently have 10 mobile trucks in Johor Bahru alone. In Kuala Lumpur, they have just started their mobile cafe in Kepong. Seems like they are going to expand to cover more areas soon.
If you go to Public Bank Kepong at Jalan Kepong, look out for their mobile cafe amongst the other food trucks there.
