Food Foundry at Happy Mansion, Petaling Jaya

April 15, 2014 by Apple Foodees Leave a Comment

It was another normal weekend and my friends and I decided to make our weekend a little bit different by going for tea break at Food Foundry. I do not know about this place until I was introduced by a friend who had just went to Food Foundry a few days ago, citing that they serve very good mille-crepe. To be honest, I do not really fancy mille-crepe at all as I prefer cakes rather than mille-crepe.

We took a short ride there from Kepong to Happy Mansion in Section 17 and surprisingly, the traffic was quite smooth. Upon arriving at Happy Mansion, I was surprised that there are many people taking their late lunches and tea breaks here. Judging by the crowd, I was quite certain that they have good food here.

Food Foundry-Mille-Crepe-Almond Salted Caramel

We approach the cake display to choose our desserts. Since Food Foundry’s Almond Salted Caramel Mille-Crepe is one that a friend of mine recommended the most, we order it. The Almond Salted Caramel mille-crepe is one of the more expensive mille-crepe here and it is priced at RM13 a slice. The mille-crepe tastes just like any other normal mille-crepes around that is quite tasteless complimented with flavourful toppings. The almond is caramelized and salted before it was placed on the mille-crepe as toppings. This is a great combination.

Food Foundry - Mille-Crepe-Vanilla

Next came the Vanilla Mille-Crepe. Priced at RM10, this Vanilla mille-crepe is recommended for those who prefer something light. While browsing through the other blogs on the internet, I realised that the price at Food Foundry has rise considerably.

Food Foundry-Chocolate Moist Cake

The Chocolate Moist Cake@ RM10 had caught our attention when we saw that it was the last piece available on the tray. Since it is one of the hot selling cake, we ordered it. Compared to the other mille-crepe, we found that since the mille-crepes are sweeter, it tastes better than this chocolate moist cake. I personally think that there are other places which serves better chocolate moist cake.

Food Foundry-Tiramisu Cake

Food Foundry’s Tiramisu Cake topped with Almond is quite good. The toppings tastes the same with the earlier almond salted mille-crepe. The heavy aroma of the coffee flavour instantly makes this the best dessert we had here. Priced at RM13, this tiramisu cake is recommended to those who likes tiramisu cakes.

Food Foundry also serves western food and coffees. If this place is not too far away, I would come back to try the other things on the menu. But for now, since I am on a budget, I would just keep this place in mind the next time I need my tea break fix.
