Have you had Thai food from a food truck before?
As rentals for a shop gets higher these days, many had opted to open a food truck business instead. And this Thai Food food truck is one of them. The good thing about a food truck is that it is mobile. They can move and operate anywhere they wish. But the bad thing is that, travelling can cost a lot and there is a problem with seating area.
To me, as long as the food is clean and good, I’m okay with it. This Thai Yellow Food Truck serves a la carte dishes offering a variety of Thai street food. All food are prepared fresh daily. Some were prepared earlier and neatly packed in plastic containers and some are prepared on the spot upon order. Here is a list of dishes they have here – tomyam bihun, duck noodles, papaya salad, chickenfoot salad (not sure what this is), mix seafood salad, white tomyam soup and etc.
We tried their Tomyam Bihun which was priced at RM6.00 a bowl. The sourness and spiciness of this tomyam bihun really does it for me. For those of you who cannot take spicy food, make sure you ask them to reduce the spiciness as this bowl of tomyam bihun is fiery hot. The prawn and squid were quite fresh too. I really enjoyed the soup and would definitely come back for this.
We also tried their Pad Thai – RM6.00 a box. Taste wise, the pad thai was quite average – it was sweet and sour at the same time. The portion is quite small compared to those that you would have in a normal Thai restaurant.
Saku Sai Moo (steamed tapioca dumplings stuffed with chicken and peanuts) – not really my favourite as they were quite chewy. I didn’t dare to take those two chili padis together as I do not wish to hurt my stomach.
As for desserts, the Mango Sticky Rice is also available here. They change their desserts everyday and you may also find other desserts here such as the Tub Tim Krob – the red rubies dessert. The sticky rice are pandan flavored sticky rice, hence the green color. Oh, in case you were wondering, the coconut cream is served separately.
