Tai Tao is another steamboat restaurant in Kepong and I dare to say that this is a favourite to many especially the locals. When we arrived at the restaurant at about 8pm all the tables were taken up. This is the only steamboat restaurant which I have seen to have customers waiting even though there were no free tables at all. Lucky us, we just had a wait short wait thanks to some considerate customers.
At Tai Tao Steamboat Restaurant, each person is charged at RM16.00 per person. Its default customised set comes with a decent portion of steamboat ingredients which consists of prawns, vegetables, fish, pigeon eggs, tauhu, and some processed foodstuffs, i.e. fishballs, meatballs and etc…
And just like any other steamboat restaurant, each set comes with mihun, noodles and eggs to complete your meal.
If taking the set alone is not enough to feed your stomach, you may also order additional ingredients just like we did. A plate of additional slices of pork meat is priced at RM8.00. You may order other add-ons such as wanton / sui kao too.
While waiting for your soup to boil, you may also order chicken wings at the stall nearby. Here, each pair of chicken wings are priced at RM 2.40.
Overall, our bill came up to about RM40 for the two of us. The price is quite reasonable. No wonder there were still many thronging this place even after we left at about 9pm.
