Sushi Tei has been around for many years and I have not been to Sushi Tei until recently. Based on Sushi Tei’s website, there are 12 outlets in Malaysia alone. There is no Sushi Tei in Japan at all and it is safe to say that this Japanese restaurant did not originate from Japan. Based on the number of outlets this restaurant has in Singapore – 14 outlets, I guess this franchise Japanese restaurant originates from Singapore.
“Sushi Tei is no ordinary dining restaurant, notably Sushi Tei believes in providing an ethereal with an alluring ambiance more than a dining experience just for you by setting themselves apart from the norm.”
I agree with this statement as the ambiance here is quite classy. For me, nothing is more important than the food itself.
Since this was an invited review, we were not able to choose the dishes that we want. We had the Bara Kaisen Don @ RM23.80, assorted marinated seafood on sushi rice…
…and the Kirishima @ RM33.80 which comes with tuna, salmon, squid, octopus, boiled scallops, yellow-tail, prawn, eel, sweet beancurd, omelette, scallop innards, tuna salad, crab meat and mayonnaise with flying fish roe. The portion is large enough for 3 to 4 persons. Between the 2, the Bara Kaisen Don is more value for money considering the amount of sashimi they gave.
Overall, this Japanese franchise restaurant is quite a decent restaurant. Food is okay, service is okay, ambiance is very beautiful.
