SS2 Murni Restaurant is one of the favourite hang out place for the University Malaya students. I often patronise this place during my university time a few years back as this is one of the most happening spot for uni students. The restaurant owner is a Bumiputra so don’t be surprise as he looks like a Chinese man.
They have a very extensive menu ranging from mamak style to western style. Some of their famous menus are their Roti Hawaii, Nasi Lemak, Claypot Lou Shu Fun, Seafood Spaghetti and many more. I guess this should be a great place for those who needs to break fast in the month of the coming Ramadan next week. Its cheaper than any hotel offering Buffet style of break fasting.
I gotta say that SS2 Murni’s Nasi Lemak is very worth ordering. Not only their portion is huge, the price is also considerably cheap. It is priced at RM6 per plate. Look at the generous portion of chicken they serve! You can either order with or without the chicken.
One of the thing that I notice here is that they are not petty in their ingredients. I had nine prawns, three scallops and some deep fried squids in my Seafood Spaghetti. For those who are not a fan of black pepper, I would strongly recommend you NOT to try this as they actually uses quite a lot of pepper. Those green ingredients you see are not green vegetables but “cili padi”. Hence this Seafood Spaghetti is in fact quite spicy. The Spaghetti was priced at RM10 per plate.
To quench our thirst, we ordered their “teh si peng”, a three layered drink famously known from Sarawak. The three layers are tea (finger pointing at tea), milk and followed by brown sugar. This drink is priced at RM2.50 per glass.
And lastly, how to get there?
SS2 Murni Restaurant (Restoran SS2 Murni)
Jalan SS2/75, Petaling Jaya,
47300 Selangor
(Look for a restaurant with lots of people especially when you are going there at night. The crowd does sometimes stretches from their shop to a few shops away. It is located just behind KFC.)
The seafood spaghetti looks really good (if minus the cili padi)! 🙂
chili padi for spaghetti??? geee… am on it!! 🙂
they got a most dirty kitchen in the world…dont go inside their kitchen if you want dinner there…
Hope you guys enjoyed the “special” drinks. Sometimes during rushed periods, the staff would wipe with the cloth and squeeze them back into the cups which are unwashed sometimes.
I have personally seen that in the kitchen. Thats why I made it a point to never drink there anymore
haha that Seafood Spaghetti looks too complicated for me…
Murni should improve the food appearance la :p
