Sakae Sushi at 1 Utama Mutiara Damansara

July 18, 2009 by Apple Foodees 3 Comments

Our latest visit was to Sakae Sushi at 1 Utama Mutiara Damansara. Believe it or not, that was my first time there! The place was already packed with people when we arrived there at 12pm sharp!

Most people would already know the location of Sakae Sushi, nevertheless it is also disclosed below for those who were like me “First-timers”

Location : –

1-Utama
Lot G 212, Ground Floor Promenade
1 Utama Shopping Centre, No.1 Lebuh Bandar Utama,
Bandar Utama Damansara
47800 Petaling Jaya,
Selangor Darul Ehsan
Tel : 603-7726 6428
Fax : 603-7726 6429

Sakae Sushi

The place is not very spacious and jammed packed with their specialities such as LCD monitor for you to choose your food. You can click on all types of food and view it before placement of orders. Prices are also stated there. Quite unique but a little troublesome if you have a large crowd wanting to order different types of food. This is due to the use of a mouse and the area is a little bit cramp. Nevertheless, it was a new experience to me.

Last I heard was this concept was innovated by Sakae Sushi and they had the very same concept in Singapore as well!

Sakae Sushi

The symbolic logo of a Frog or was it a toad? I wonder why they decided to put a huge frog in front… Isn’t sushi supposed to be fish? Maybe someone can share this with me. Lolz…

Sakae Sushi - Unagi

I ordered the Unagi Kamameshi. Full of delicious Sakae’s unagi plus some rice and mushrooms. After having this, you’re almost done. So, if you are the type of person who prefers to try a few different type of dishes, do take this out of your options as this can be quite filling. Its priced at RM17.90.

Sakae Sushi-Chawanmushi

My friend ordered her favourite Sakae Chawanmushi. Priced at RM3.90

Sakae Sushi

We had also ordered the promotion dishes, whereby if you are a Citibank credit card holder, you get to choose a selection of dishes by Buying 1 and Getting another 1 Free! We had ordered the most expensive of all the listed items which priced at RM3.90 – Soft Shell Crab Temaki

Sakae Sushi

Looks like a tiny row of houses. This is the famous Unagi Tama Makis. You can only find this at Sakae Sushi!

A closer shot at Unagi Tama Makis! Priced at RM 12.90

Sakae Sushi

This next dish is very unique. It’s called Fruitti Maki! Had some fruits on top of it. And now you know, sushi has expanded its definition from raw fish to raw fruits. Lolz… I guess Sakae Sushi is the only one that serves that currently? Could it be to cater vegetarians? Its priced at RM12.90. A little pricey for fruits I guess as it cost the same as the Unagi plate.

Sakae Sushi

The last dish we had was soft shell crab crepe. Not too fond of it, just I find it quite normal. Priced at RM5.90.

Conclusion of it, great place for a reunion and great experience of the new Sushi definition. If you noticed, sushi has now converted from raw fish to soft shell crabs, fruits and cooked unagi. Where is the normal raw fish nowadays? Are we “the society” getting more health conscious now?
