What are the 5 Must-Eat Puchong Food that are in your list right now?
If you have a list of must-eat Puchong foods, you should add these 5 eateries if you haven’t add them into your list yet. These 5 eateries that I’m going to recommend here are Malaysian food. There are so many restaurants that serve international food such as Korean food, Japanese food and etc. that have been flooding my Facebook page nowadays. And I say that I think it is high time more Malaysian foods are recognized and shared online, as we do have some of the best foods in the world. Malaysian foods are not only affordable they are actually quite good. In fact, many tourists actually come all the way to Malaysia just for our food.
Well, folks living and working in Puchong, here are 5 Must-Eat Puchong Food that you should try today. All of them are located in Bandar Bukit Puchong, a newly developed township developed by Bukit Hitam Development Sdn Bhd (a member of the TAHPS Group Berhad).
Puchong Food No. 1 – Warung Cikgu (Halal)
Warung Cikgu is a Kelantanese restaurant in Bandar Bukit Puchong and this restaurant is a classic example to other restaurants out there that you don’t actually need a lot of items in your menu to be successful.
Warung Cikgu only have 6 items on the menu. Yes, that’s right. Six items only.
They have:-
i.) Nasi Mmanggey @ RM5.00;
ii.) Nasi Lemak @ RM2.50 / Nasi Lemak with Chicken @ RM5.00;
iii.) Nasi Berlauk Ikan Tongkol @ RM4.50;
iv.) Coconut Shake @ RM3.50;
v.) Kelapa Baldi @ RM3.80; and
vi.) ABC Oreo @ RM4.50.
It was only 10am when we arrived at Warung Cikgu and there was a long queue at the side of the restaurant. We were told that their ikan tongkol is so popular that they always sold out their Nasi Berlauk Ikan Tongkol before 9:00am.
The Nasi Ikan Tongkol is not the only popular item here, but their Nasi Mmanggey as well. Nasi Mmanggey is basically fried marinated bite-sized chicken with rice and secret sambal sauce. The portion is so big that one packet of Nasi Mmanggey is sufficient to be shared between two persons. I got to warn you though, the sambal is quite spicy.
You can give me a nasi mmanggey and a coconut shake anytime and I’ll wallop the whole thing up without any problem.

Puchong Food No. 2 – Tuan Faridah (Halal)
Tuan Faridah is located at the other corner just further down the road from Warung Cikgu and is also a restaurant that specializes in Kelantanese food. Their concept is simple and is similar to any ‘nasi campur’ restaurant.
Here, there are a lot more choices of everyday dishes which also include some very expensive ingredients as well as affordable ones. It’s quite surprising to find ‘udang galah’ here, small ones that is and they are each priced between RM2.50 to RM3.50 per piece. Even crabs are available here as well.
The signature dish at Tuan Faridah is their Ayam Kampung. The ‘ayam kampung’ is much thinner than the normal chicken but it is quite good. You may pair this with their durian paste / tempoyak, chili padi and some lime for a unique experience of Kelantanese food.

Puchong Food No. 3 – Diem Cafe
Diem Café is probably the only café that you can find at BP Newtown II currently. The unique thing about Diem Café is that they make their own toast and bread here. Looking at the menu, I didn’t expect that the food would turn out so pretty and so good.
Diem Café is definitely a place I would recommend anyone to try. If you must order one thing here, you should go for the Malaysian favourite, Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken. The rice, sambal, curry chicken and etc. complement each other very well.

Puchong Food No. 4 – Restaurant Chef K
Restaurant Chef K specializes in humble Ipoh food. You can find some Ipoh signature dishes such as Ipoh curry mee, Ipoh roast pork belly, Ipoh salted chicken, Ipoh pan mee and etc. here.
We had the curry mee topped with a generous amount of roast pork belly and siham. Look how divine this bowl of curry mee is. The combination of the juicy freshly roasted pork belly coupled with the thick curry mee is just beautiful.
If roast pork belly is not your thing, you may also add other ingredients such as prawns or squids or maybe everything.
The price range for their curry mee is between RM7.00 to RM9.50 depending on the size and the kind of ingredients you add. For those who prefer something clear and not too heavy, you may opt for their pan mee instead. For your information, they make their own pan mee. Their pan mee is quite good but their curry mee with roast pork is the champ here.

Puchong Food No. 5 – KP Tong Hong Restaurant – Kuala Pilah food
I’m not quite familiar with Kuala Pilah food. Kuala Pilah is a town in Negeri Sembilan and is seldom visited by tourists but it does have its charms. KP Tong Hong Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant that serves Kuala Pilah food. Their food may look simple but don’t be deceive by its simple looks. Their food is has got some serious bold flavours to them. Even a simple seaweed with eggs soup taste so so so… Good.
Their fried chicken may look like any other fried chicken out there but its not. Layered underneath the chicken skin is a layer of fish cake and that layer of fish cake simply elevates this dish. If you think fried chicken is good on its own, yes it is. But by adding another layer of fish paste to it, it is a whole new level.
One of the signature dishes they have here is their pie. The ingredient you may choose is either the pork rib or chicken. The portion is quite big and is good for sharing between 3 to 4 persons.
If you have not tried Kuala Pilah food before and do not want to travel too far, you should try this restaurant in Bandar Bukit Puchong.
