Piggy Tail is a combination of a restaurant and a bar and its menu consists of many pork based dishes and a good selection of liquors.
Piggy Tail is located strategically in the middle of the rows and rows of shoplots in Bangsar – Jalan Telawi, Bangsar. It is easy to spot this restaurant and bar as it is located right next to the famous banana leaf restaurant called Restaurant Sri Nirwana Maju.
We ordered the Piggy Steak Burger – a pork and bacon cheese burger which is served with curly fries, salad and coleslaw for RM32.00. The pork were quite bland and in my opinion, more cheese would have made this burger taste better. The curly fries were quite crispy and it tastes great. Coleslaw on the other hand was quite average.
This is Piggy Tail’s BBQ Short Pork Rib which is priced at RM58.00. A signature dish here. The BBQ Short Pork Rib was very flavorful and it was slightly charred leaving a smoky flavor to it. The only down side of this dish is that the portion is too small. Based on the picture, you may think that the portion is large but it isn’t actually. It is mostly bones. 70% bones : 30% meat and fat.
Here’s a short description on the kind of pork they use here. Apparently they use organic Sakura porks here. The pigs are raised using traditional methods. The pigs were fed with vegetable grain feed only.
The Mixed Pork Frank @ RM30.00 came with only two different types of sausages. The pork franks were very flavorful and firm. The sides – mashed potatoes, salad and coleslaw were very average.
We shared our drink and had only ordered the Ice Blended Mocha for RM13. I was quite disappointed with this and quite frankly, I think this drink should be renamed to “Really A Lot Of Ice with Bland Mocha”
Since I’m clueless about wines, I’m not touching it at all except that Piggy Tail offers a Wine Buffet every Tuesdays from 7.30pm to 10.30pm for RM65 nett per pax.
Here are some pictures around the restaurant. It is quite dark on the inner part of the restaurant.
Looking at the number of seats and the size of the restaurant, I presume that this restaurant should be able to accommodate about 30 to 40 people at any one time.
Here is a shot on the first page of the menu which I think should be shared with all you pork lovers out there.
