Naughty Nuri’s Warung in Ubud, Bali – Barbecue Ribs

February 4, 2015 by Apple Foodees Leave a Comment

Naughty Nuri’s Warung is famous for its barbecue ribs. Naughty Nuri’s Warung is so famous that people from all over the world would stop at their main branch in Ubud, Bali to try their famous barbecue ribs. Since we were touring around Ubud, Bali, we asked my tour guide to stop us at this little establishment – Naughty Nuri’s Warung for lunch. When we arrived, the place was already packed with people. Many of the customers there are not locals and are mainly tourists. This is possibly due to the word of mouth that Naughty Nuri’s Warung serves one of the best barbecue ribs in Bali. We were very fortunate to find ourselves a table even though the place was packed. We sat just in front, close enough to watch the cooks of Naughty Nuri’s Warung in action.

The ribs were marinated immediately upon order and were immediately placed on the barbecue rack to cook. The secret to Naughty Nuri’s Warung barbecue ribs is their marinate. A big pot of marinate is placed right next to the barbecue rack to allow easy access for the chef to marinate and baste the ribs.

The portion served here is definitely must bigger in Ubud than the one in Kuala Lumpur. A full rack of barbecue ribs is priced at IDR110,000.00.

Each rack of barbecue ribs is served with a slice of lime. The barbecue ribs is great even without the lime. The meat was soft and tender. It was very juicy as well. The cook did a very good job and there was hardly any burned meat or fat.

Other than barbecue ribs, Naughty Nuri’s Warung also serves other Indonesian food. To accompany our barbecue ribs, we ordered their Nasi Campur which comes with two pieces of fried chicken, tempe, an egg, some beans and mixed vegetables. A plate of nasi campur is only IDR35,000.00.

Fried rice with egg is also in the menu at IDR 40,000.00.

You can also purchase their t-shirts as souvenirs.

We were very fortunate that our tour guide is very familiar with the roads in Bali. The best part of the trip is that he knows where all the good foods are and the easiest and fastest way to get there.

He had no trouble looking for this place and had included this place as one of the stop when we were going around Ubud.
