The Manhattan Fish Market Malaysia is a well known franchise restaurant in Malaysia. They have been around for many years. Manhattan Fish Market serves American-style seafood such as the famous Manhattan Fish n’ Chips, the Garlic Herb Mussels and the Manhattan Flaming Seafood Platter. They have over 72 restaurants in Asia and the Middle East. In Malaysia alone, there are 35 restaurants.
Since we were invited to review their food, our options are quite limited. We had the Manhattan Flaming Prawns @ RM32.75. It comes with a grilled dory fillet, 3 pieces of prawns, garlic herb rice, chips and some vegetables. The reason why the word ‘flaming’ is part of the name is because they will melt the cheese using a blow torch in front of you.
The prawns were quite alright, definitely not the best I’ve had, but the dory fish fillet is a little soggy. If I have the choice of choosing another fish, I will definitely pick anything other than dory fish.
We also had the Spicy Baked Fish @ RM20.67. The marinate is quite okay but it would have been better if I get to choose another type of fish. This dish comes with a baked dory fillet in extra-spicy marinade, garlic herb rice and hot vegetables.
Not everything in the menu uses dory fillet. There are some pretty expensive seafood on the menu as well. It seems that they are having a Canadian Lobster promotion.
