It is difficult enough to actually see famous people in real life let alone get up close and personal with them. But at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the impossible becomes possible. At Madame Tussauds, not only you get see your favourite artists or the Royal family, but you also get to take pictures with them. Well, they are of course not real, but they are only wax models of famous people.
There are numerous galleries and to name a few, The Royal Family, Hollywood and Bollywood stars, World Leaders and many more. Please pardon me for the poor quality of the pictures. Some of the rooms are too dark.
There are 11 galleries and the first room contains the world’s most famous stars. Visitors get to experience the world of glamour at MT’s A-list Party. Greeting you here are some of Hollywood’s famous stars, Brat Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Do remember to dress at your best as here you will get to mingle with Hollywood’s favourite stars. Just strike a pose with the biggest names in fashion and get your cameras ready to capture that moment.
As the place was so crowded, I nearly missed Christina Aguilera which was standing at the corner. I must say that, they did a very good job in making a wax version of her. She looks so real!
One guy nearly knocked over Justin Timberlake as he was standing right in the middle of the gallery. So if you are coming here for a visit, do take care not to topple over any of the wax models there.
Jennifer Lopez. Looking at the wax model, it is not easy to distinguish between a wax model and a real person. Every single details of that person, the eyes, the ears, the nose and etc. were measured and made almost 100% similar to the real person.
Meet the other movie star, Julia Roberts.
I had a very hard time taking pictures of David Beckham and Victoria. There were too many people waiting to take pictures with them. So to avoid the crowd, do remember to come a bit earlier.
George Clooney was sitting alone on a neatly arranged table, inviting visitors to take pictures with him. There is no restriction as to whether you can touch the glasses or plates on the table. So you are free to use them to take pictures with him.
Tom Cruise standing at the corner with his charming smile.
Also, standing elegantly at the other corner are Nicole Kidman and Johnny Depp. I am not quite sure who the other person is and if anyone could help me to identify her, your help is appreciated.
A book containing all the wax models can be purchased at the souvenier shop. This book contains a short bibliography of each wax models. From what I’ve observed, they do change the wax model’s clothes from time to time to suit the model’s the current fashion. Not only that, they do change the wax models too. Therefore, you may missed some of your favourite stars if you come at the wrong time.
In the Teen Idol room, you will find Miley Cirus and Zach Efron.
As the place quite dark and if you do not want to be disappointed with the pictures you have taken, Madame Tussauds provides a photo-taking service here. I am not sure about the price for each photo and as I am on a tight budget and not wanting to spend more I just took a shot with my own camera anyway.
Moving on to the next room, you will be greeted by some of the famous Bollywood stars, Aishwarya Rai and Shahrukh Khan. Yes, I know. The guy beside her is not Shahrukh Khan. But he is one of the figures that you can see here. I’ve forgotten to take an individual picture of him.
Not to forget, Salman Khan is here too.
The nearest tube station to Madame Tussauds is Baker Street station. If you are familiar with the stories of Sherlock Holmes, then you should know that Sherlock Holmes lived at Baker Street. Madame Tussauds’s latest attraction is Robert Downey Jr., the actor for the latest Sherlock Holmes movie.
Animations such as Shrek, Jurassic Park and Superman were displayed here too.
Dame Judi Dench, one of the actress in the movie Mission Impossible.
Holywood actor turned Californian governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Moving down to the lower floor, you will be greeted by some of the famous sports stars, such as David Beckham and Pele.
There are some interactive tasks which you may try such as a car racing video game or taking a penalty kick alongside Beckham.
Paul Scholes pose is really odd. What is he doing? Waiting for the ball?
Wayne Rooney.
Muhammad Ali, the greatest heavyweight championship boxers of all time. There is a weighting scale provided at the corner and you may use it to find out your boxing class. And I did. I am categorised under Light Flyweight, the lowest weight on the scale. I don’t think I can take a punch at all. lol..
McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton.
Your visit here will not be complete without meeting the royals. Here is the nasty King who married 6 times, King Henry VIII.
The late, Princess Diana.
The Royal Family, Charles and Camilla, and the dashing Princes, William and Harry.
Sir Richard Branson, the chairman of of Virgin Group who makes flying across space possible.
One of the previous Prime Ministers of United Kingdom, Margaret Hilda Thatcher.
Tony Blair.
Madame Tussauds opens at 9am to 7.30pm during peak times and 9.30am to 7pm during normal times. And the peak times are weekends, UK school holidays and public holidays.
As we took too much time in the other rooms before visiting the World Leader’s gallery room, we ran out of time. We had to take our pictures randomly before moving on to the next room.
Some of the World leaders displayed here are President Barrack Obama, Mahatma Ghandi, Kofi Annan and many more.
Yasser Arafat.
Boris Johnson – London’s mayor.
Some of the Music Megastars here are Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Leona Lewis and many more.
Amy Winehouse.
The Beatles.
Marilyn Monroe.
We spent nearly 4 hours at Madame Tussauds. It is such a pity that we got chased out as they were closing at 7pm. So to be on the safe side, do remember to come a bit earlier as the crowds gets bigger in the afternoon.
There is a special offer on the ticket price called the After 5 Saver which I strongly do not recommend if you want to take a slow visit around Madame Tussauds as at about 6.15pm, they will start chasing you out. Believe me, it is not worth it even if you got to save 50% of the normal ticket price.
I got my ticket online, the Priority Access Tickets in which I got a 10% off the normal price tickets at only £22.99. So if you are looking to save on the ticket price, do try to purchase your tickets online. All you need to do is just to inform them your visiting time and pay your tickets online. Overall, I had an enjoyable time visiting the wax museum. Although they are only wax people, but they do resembles the real person itself. The only thing I am not happy about is the shortage of time.
To visit the wax museum, the address is as follows: Madame Tussauds, Marylebone Road, London NW1 5LR

Madame tussauds is one of the greatest sights in London. I have heard that Madame Tussauds also exists in Berlin. I wonder if it is as good as in London.
