During the long weekend, we decided to travel a little further to try KG Korean Charcoal BBQ in Da Men, Subang Jaya. Upon arrival, we noticed the word KG which we thought are quite similar to KiloGrill at Publika. We checked with the owner of KG Korean Charcoal BBQ and he informed us that this is another business venture of his with another partner. Further, the menu are similar to KiloGrill and one of the clear difference here is that KG Korean Charcoal BBQ offers a self-service salad bar as well.
We had a very enjoyable time at KiloGrill and upon knowing that this place is also owned by the same person, we knew that we are in for a treat. The place is very much bigger than the one in Publika, hence there is a lot more space for people to walk around.

The menu is simple and straight forward. Choose either chicken, beef, lamb, pork or seafood. They come a la carte or in set. Meat set, seafood set or skewer set. My recommendation for you is to go straight for the set and then if you can stomach more, order the extras individually. This way, you’ll get to try everything.
My favorites were the marinated pork belly, rib eye beef, scallops, mackerel fish, tiger prawns and the oysters. We ordered 3 plates of scallops and oysters that evening and it was awesome.
As I have mentioned above, there is a salad bar in the middle of the restaurant. A variety of vegetables, meat balls, korean rice, korean soup, condiments and etc. are available here. You may even find crabs here as well.
Unlike KiloGrill, you won’t see the long restaurant exhaust pipe coming down from the ceiling. Come to think of it, there weren’t much smoke and it may be because the stove that we were using is a different one from KiloGrill.
By the way, if you like Korean MTVs, you’ll love it here. They play music videos performed by Korean artists the whole night and I can’t stop looking at them.
The opening of KG Korean Charcoal BBQ is a good news for those who are staying in Subang Jaya. It is an affordable all-you-can-eat Korean buffet which offers some pretty premium ingredients.
