Hoppers Kuala Lumpur is a unique cafe which serves only hoppers. There are two different versions, the sweet version and the savoury version. The hoppers or sweet appams that are served here are considered to be the elevated version of hoppers. So is it good?
This is the plain sweet appam. Just brown sugar and flour. Simple right? It’s good.
We also tried the hopper with diced mangoes, toasted black sesame, edible flowers and coconut milk. The base is the same with the plain appam. The only difference is the toppings.
This is the savoury type of appam – the Nasi Lemak Appam. Taste wise, the “apam lemak” is quite good and it taste like any other nasi lemak in town. The only thing different is that there is no coconut rice. The coconut rice has been substituted with the plain appam.
FYI, this place used to be a law firm and since the lawyer has retired, the place is now converted into this little eatery. In fact, you may still see some law books (used as decoration) here and there.
At first we thought that the appams will not be able to fill our stomach and had even planned to go somewhere else for lunch. But after having our meal here, we decided to go straight home. Don’t underestimate these appams. They can fill you up to last the whole day.
