Emirates is the official international airline of the United Arab Emirates. Emirates has a reputable track record for being on time for its flights except of course under certain situations when it is not safe to travel.
As Arabic is their official language, all the announcement and menus were given in Arab followed by English. The stickers provided for your instructions to the air stewardess were also in Arab. Well, I do not know about the other airlines; this is the first time I see stickers are use as the mode of communication between the passengers who are asleep and the air hostess.
This is the dinner menu that was given for flights going from KLIA, Kuala Lumpur to Dubai. Being a big fan of curry, I chose the Chicken Curry as my main course.
All foods were prepared well-ahead, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying my chicken curry. The Chicken Curry were served alongside with tradisional Malaysian roti jala and carrot and potato masala. The Prawn Salad was absolutely refreshing. I didn’t know this dish could go very well with curry. I had in total 6 prawns in my salad!
Not all was good though. I didn’t quite like their desserts – Red Bean Layer Cake. It was very lacking in flavour. It must be the curry that made this dessert tasteless. lol.
Although you are on a plane from an Islamic country, passengers can still enjoy fined beverages from a selection of Wines, Spirits, Beers, Liquers and Soft Drinks. All these drinks are complementary except for champagne where you need to fork out another USD$8 per glass. This is the breakfast menu for flights from Dubai to London.
As I was quite hungry, I ordered the Breakfast Grill which includes grilled chicken, herb cream egg roll, turkey bacon, potato hash brown and baked beans. The food from Dubai looks so much better than the ones from Malaysia, except for the grilled chicken. It was charred till it was black.
The breakfast grill set were amazing. The croissant and the herb cream egg roll were my favourites. Butter, “Aardbeienjam” strawberry jam and Belpaese cheese were also provided for you to enjoy it with your bun.
Overall, I had an enjoyable time flying with Emirates. If you need to use your laptop or even your mobile phones, you may use it while flying with Emirates. But of course not while taking-off or landing. If you notice, you may even charge your battery using their universal adapter charger located near your screen.
There are over 600 movie channels for your viewing pleasure and if you like games, there are lots of games available too.
You may also view the live view of the plane taking-off and landing on your screen. I strongly suggest you to use this when the plane is taking-off and landing as this is the view you cannot see eventhough you are seated at the window seat.
If you are flying with Emirates anytime soon, just relax and enjoy you whole trip on board the plane before you reach your destination. Happy flying.
