DC Comics Superheroes Cafe at Sunway Putra Mall

Do you recognise this super heroes store? Yes, this is DC Comics Superheroes Cafe and Store which was recently open in Sunway Putra Mall (previously known as the Mall) which is located at Jalan Putra, opposite Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC). There are quite a number of Super Heroes shops selling t-shirts, toys, souvenirs around the Klang Valley. But not all serves coffee and food. Yes, you read it correctly, coffee and food. Now, not only you get to buy your favourite iconic and famous characters’ t-shirts, souvenirs and etc., but you get to enjoy a cup of coffee or two surrounded with these amazing super heroes characters.

If you are familiar with DC Comics, you would know some of their iconic and famous characters, the Superman and Batman. You do not get to order and enjoy a cup of Gotham Madness Latte, Catwoman’s Jewel Salted Caramel, Batman Returns Earl Grey Tea, Superman Trinity Juice, Green Lantern’s Light Green Tea or Batsy Oreo Milkshake elsewhere but here at DC Comics cafe.

Even their main dishes sounds super cool – Batman vs Hawkman, Aquaman Special, Batman Classic Hawaiian, Nightwing Rampage Blue Berry Pancake, to name some. Each and every food is marked with its respective trademarks. So if you order a Batman burger, do expect to get some edible Batman mark.

We were out of luck that Friday evening as all food were sold out. Apparently there was a huge crowd during lunch on Friday that there are no more food left. Even the scones and pancakes were sold out. So we ordered only drinks. This is the “I Am Batman Chocolate Toffee” for RM18. I Am Batman Chocolate Toffee is basically made of choc toffee, Belgian chocolate chips, whipped cream and chocolate sauce.

If you are thinking that this I Am Batman Chocolate Toffee is just a gimmick for DC Comics to earn more money and it won’t be good, you are absolutely wrong. This chocolate toffee is actually pretty good. It was creamy, rich and very chocolaty. Taste wise, it was sweet with a bitter taste at the end.

This is Superman’s Smallville Cafe Mocha at RM15 and this Superman’s drink is made of espresso, Belgian cocoa and steamed milk. Now this is a coffee artwork you cannot get elsewhere, the Superman’s mark.

It was unfortunate that we didn’t get to try any of their food. But overall, we were quite happy with our drinks and the ambiance we get to experience that evening.
