Everyone is looking for an affordable and “worth-every-sen” buffet. But in Kuala Lumpur, almost every buffet cost a bomb. If you are looking for a Japanese buffet, I would strongly recommend you to try the Japanese buffet offered by Sango which is located on the 2nd floor of the Crystal Crown Hotel in Petaling Jaya. This is also a good option of a Japanese style of Ramadan Buffet which is cheap!
Previously, this place was ran by a Japanese. Hence, it became very popular for the Japanese visitors visiting Malaysia but not to our Malaysian. I’m sure many of you out there didn’t know about this place.
The food here was not laid out as seen in other buffets. All you need to do is to order from the menu and the chefs will head on and start preparing your orders on the spot. Their main specialty here is their Yakitori menu. All Yakitori here will be seasoned with sea salt and sometimes pepper.
Well, lets start of with the food. First to arrive was the Chicken Wings. First impression = ICHIBAN! Awesome! This yakitori is a must-order here.
They have some special type of yakitori here. This yakitori are garlics wrapped with chicken skins. I am not really a fan of this as the garlic smell was too strong.
They also have Soft Bones in their yakitori menu. Well, I do wonder how they extract the meat out from the soft bones. Hopefully not in a way that I am thinking of right now. lol.
They have Chicken Tail in their menu too. Every part of the chicken is not wasted.
Next, came the Cucumber topped with Tomato. The cucumber was first barbecued until it became soft before the tomato paste was added on top. It was a bit sweet and a bit sour.
My favourite yakitori would be the special meat which is a mixture of beef and chicken meat. Just dipped the meat together with the sauce and the uncooked pigeon egg. This is also a must-order yakitori.
Next came the sushi salad. Its a little bit spicy and there were pieces of sushi on top of the salad. Nothing special but I like it, as I had a bad encounter previously where I had a sushi salad that was very bitter. This is sweet and spicy.
Oyster Cheese came thereafter.
Avacado Unagi Maki was equally good too. However the unagi skin they gave was too little. We told the owner about this, and I am sure they will do something about it now.
Family Salmon was a cute one here. It comprises of salmon roe, deep-fried salmon skins and the whole sushi was wrapped with raw salmon skin.
The portion for the Chawanmushi here is quite big. Prawn, crab stick, mushrooms are some of the many ingredients they used to prepare the chawanmushi.
Sango is currently doing a promotion for their buffet. From 3 August 2009 to 30 September 2009, you will get to enjoy a selection of 72 dishes, priced at only RM48++ per person. For childrens age below 12, they will get to enjoy a lower price, RM25++. This is actually quite a good deal hence if you fancy Japanese buffet rather than a Ramadhan buffet during this time of the year, you can try this buffet out.
Pls take note that most of the food shown here are not included in the buffet list, except for the chicken wings (tebasaki) and chicken tail (bonjiri). They have a separate menu for the buffet.
Wow, RM48++ is worth it leh!
