Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant has been around for many years and but it is only recently that we had the chance to try their German food and German biers. Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant is not a restaurant from German but is a restaurant that originates from Singapore.
Even though it is a franchise German restaurant from Singapore, you don’t have to worry about the authenticity of the food they serve here. That is because they actually got a German chef to make sure all food are as close as possible to the original taste and texture.
Chef Helmut originates from Thuringia, Germany but he had made Malaysia as his home now and he had been with Brotzeit since day one. Who else is better to ensure that the food taste as close as possible to the original German food taste if not a German who spends half of his life in Germany.
If you want to try the authentic taste of Thuringia German sausage, you should try the Thuringia Coiled Sausage Plate. This tender and flavourful sausage weighs about 180 grams and is good for sharing between 2 persons.
In any German restaurant, it is not uncommon to find different cuts of pork. If you wish to try the different cuts of pork, the Farmer’s Plate is what you should go for. The Farmer’s Plate comes with a slice of pork belly, bacon, pork and cheese sausage and meatballs served on top of a bed of sauerkraut and mashed potatoes and topped with fried onion rings.
The best that we had at Brotzeit was the Pork Burger with Bacons. From the pork patty to the brioche bun and bacons, everything fits perfectly. This is by far one of the best burger I’ve had for a long time.
The Lumberjack Steaks were marinated is special mix of spices for at least 24 hours before it is cooked and served to customers. It is served with fries (which was sprinkled with a mix of spices and paprika) and sauerkraut. The lumberjack steak was good but if I were to choose between this and the pork burger, I will definitely pick the pork burger.
I don’t usually order salad for starter but the MEERESFRÜCHTESALAT / SEAFOOD SALAD was quite alright. At least there are some more expensive items that comes with the salad. It is basically a mixed salad with smoked salmon, seared tuna, prawns, semi-dried tomatoes, olives, grilled zucchini, orange wedges and sour cream tossed with house dressing.
FYI, pizza is also available here. As there were the 2 of us only, they combined the Bavarian and Spinach Flade Pizza together. The Spinach Flade pizza is made of tomato sauce, mozzarella, baby spinach, feta cheese, vine ripened tomatoes, onions, garlic and mushrooms whereas the Bavarian Pizza is made of tomato sauce, mozzarella, bacon, leg ham, mild green peppers, onions and mushrooms.
For dessert, we ordered the White Chocolate Lava Cake. This white chocolate lava cake may look similar to the normal chocolate lava cake but it definitely taste different. The acidic berry sauce and plum sauce compliments very well with the sweet white chocolate cake.

Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant – German Biers
A meal at a German restaurant wouldn’t be complete without a cup of German beer. They have both alcoholic beers and non-alcoholic beers here.
For those of you who will be driving after your meal, I would recommend you to try this Hefe-Weßbier by Paulener. This bier is imported directly from Munich, Germany. Oh, I miss this place so much. If you haven’t been to Munich, Germany, you should start planning a trip here.
Alternatively, you may try other alcoholic beers, also by Paulener. You may try this Weißbier Kristallklar beer. You can’t get more wheat and malt flavour than this in a Weissbier, or more colours in the carbon dioxide bubbles.
To end your meal, you may get yourself this aromatic and smooth cup of cappucino coffee.
