BLUE Inn Seafood is not the typical seafood restaurant you normally find out there but is a restaurant which serve seafood boils. Seafood boils are common along the Gulf Coast and this concept is quite popular in Malaysia right now. Seafood boils are a tradition where shellfish and other ingredients are boiled in a large pot of flavorful broth and served on a large piece of paper without any plates.
What separates BLUE Inn Seafood from the other seafood boils restaurants around is that BLUE Inn Seafood’s shellfish are cooked in Chinese style. Take a look at their menu and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
The shellfish are not all boiled in a pot but separately cooked in different styles and flavors. Set A @ RM118.00 comes with 7 different shellfish in different flavors; sweet and sour crab, buttermilk prawn, kam heong clams, curry squid, sweet chili shell, chili padi mussels and spicy asam stingray. This set is suitable for 3 to 4 persons.
As there were only the two of us, we ordered Set B @ RM68.00. Our Set B comes with sweet and sour crab, buttermilk prawn, kam heong clams and curry squid. Both sets also comes with white rice and also salad.
If you are worry about getting your hands dirty, you may use the disposable plastic gloves. Otherwise, just use your hands. There are wash basins in the restaurant where you can clean your hands afterwards.
As for drinks, there’s the usual juices, soft drinks, tea, coffee and beers. This blue drink is the Blue Inn Milk Tea @ RM21.50. It tastes just like any milk tea out there.
Overall, the food was food. At least you don’t get bored with only 1 flavour. It was unexpectedly good.
