Axian has his own dim sum restaurant in Bandar Puteri Puchong. If you don’t know who he is; he is the popular host of “Taste With Jason”, one of the Astro programme promoting Malaysian food.
At first I thought he would be one of the chefs who prepares the dim sum to their customers. Well, I am wrong. They have their own dim sum sifus.
If you are not sure what to order, just look around the restaurant, they have framed pictures menu of their signature dim sums.
One of their favourites were the Shanghai Xiao Long Bao. You got to order this dim sum very early, as you will need to wait for quite long. During our visit, many people were frustrated when they were told to wait for at least 15 minutes for their Xiao Long Bao to be served. We were one of them and no, we did not wait for 15 minutes, we waited for around 20 minutes.
Well, the waiting time was okay as the xiao long bao was quite good.
Siu Mai. Most of Axian’s Dim Sum were priced at RM4.50 each. It is quite expensive as compared to other dim sum restaurants around Puchong area.
Crispy Salad Roll was quite normal although it was said that it is one of the chef’s specialty here. The prawn was wrapped in rice paper roll and was fried.
Another Prawn Salad.
Axian Dim Sum Restaurant employs many young workers. Each of them were put in-charge of their own tables. Hence, the dim sums will be brought to you. But becareful as they can get very clumsy. One of them accidently poured the hot water on one lady.
Hence, if you want to have a good breakfast here, be sure to get here very early. And if you are lucky, you may be able to meet Axian in person as he would be here in the weekends to greet his fans. A friendly guy he is, he would be happy to pose and take a picture with you and your family.

normal dim sum only… using axian name to sell
ryan says
4.50 for har kaw that has very little prawn?
young waiters running around pretending to look busy?
a throng of people who love to crowd for mediocre food?
at least you gave some honest comments and not rant on about how you ate at a famous person’s restaurant.

Apple Foodees: Apparently, the owners does pay royalty to him to use his name. For me, I would prefer to just judge them on their food and not the name of the shop.

replace by another name Luk Yu Dim Sum. they setup another branch in Subang beside Puchong. in less than 1 year, the Subang brnahc already close shop due to poor response, high pricing, below par taste and especially the bad services.
now it’s left only Puchong branch which is only waiting to windup sooner or later due to no improvement in all the above points i mentioned.
Apple Foodees says
Really? Oh wow. That’s bad news for them.
