This is our second time to Authentic BBQ & Nabe at Taman Bukit Maluri, Kepong. We had had a very good experience here when we were here a few years back. As we couldn’t think of where to go for dinner, we decided to come back to Authentic BBQ & Nabe.
There are currently two branches of Authentic BBQ & Nabe, one in Taman Bukit Maluri, opposite of Jungle City and the other is at Jalan Metro Prima, Metro Prima, Kepong, 52100 Kuala Lumpur.
If you have dine at a similar restaurant to this restaurant in Taman Desa, you will notice the similarity between the two. We were informed that the owner in Authentic BBQ Kepong helped set up the one in Taman Desa (previously own by a Japanese but now being took over by others). There is no connection between the two, in case you were wondering.
Occasionally they do have all you can eat buffet here but this is not always the case. There are a variety of options of various cuts here and below are the things we ordered.
Pork Neck Meat @ RM8.00.
Beef Ribeye @ RM11.00.
Lamb Loin @ RM11.00.
Pork Shoulder Loin @ RM10.00.
Pork Belly @ RM10.00
Plain meat won’t taste good even if it is cooked over charcoal fire. A dipping sauce, chili powder, black pepper and salt and limes are provided. You may adjust the flavour according to your liking. What we found after trying here and there is that the meat taste better is it is marinated in soy sauce (there are extra left over from our chicken thigh – see below).

You may also order seafood, vegetables, rice and other items to compliment your meal. We ordered the Chapati @ RM3.00 for 8 pieces.

We enjoyed our meal here very much. Our total bill was RM86.00 for 2 persons. The portion wasn’t too much. It was just right. We will definitely be back for more.
