Yong Tau Foo @ PJ Old Town – Gerai Seong Kee

Normally, during the weekdays people tend to choose a lighter meal for lunch. Sitting in the office typing away on the computer does not really use up all the food we have eaten for the day. So, we went to this hawker stall in PJ Old town. It was recommended by a colleague of mine. There were many choices you can choose from the whole list menus such as Yong Tau Foo, Curry fish head, Assam fish, Fried chicken wing, Hack Ka Cha Youk (Hakka fried pork) to Vinegar Pork Leg. As we are tight for time, we tried the Yong Tau Foo.

My first choice was definitely had to be the one with the least meat (Keep Fit Ma) and I got myself a tau foo, a chili, two egg plants and a lady finger. Regardless of what my colleague said, I personally feel that it tastes quite normal. Nothing so fancy about it. However, there is one thing I noticed about this Yong Tau Foo is that it is less oily compared to other stalls that I had eaten before.



My friend had the Hack Ka Cha Youk (Hakka fried pork). Well, it looks delicious and according to him, it tastes “fantastic”. Well, I assume it would be nice if this dish were to be enjoyed with rice.

PJ Old Town – Gerai Seong Kee address is at Jalan Terus 4/42, 46050 Petaling Jaya. It is located next to the wet market.

While I was having my lunch happily, two men sat at the next table to us. One of the uncle called for the lady boss and said that he had pre-ordered “Curry Fish Head” earlier through a phone call. My first thought was “why did he ring the stall up just for some Curry Fish Head for lunch?” I guess “Curry Fish Head” will be my next option at PJ Old Town. ^^

    Foodees : I didn’t actually tried the fried pork. Would try it on my next visit definitely!

    hakka fried pork!!! i love this dish! recently discovered it only though…can’t seem to find it in penang. :( but i recently got a recipe so will have to try it one of these days! lol

    and your YTF looks healthy :) usually im very tempted to pick all the fried stuff. so now need to control and pick the veggies instead. hehe

    Foodees : The one in PJ Old Town is quite famous for it. All my guy colleagues actually ordered that dish while the girls had the YTF. Guess its a temptation to get you down in KL to try them! By the way, would like to have a look at your recipe. Mind to share? ^^

    Maybe cos their Curry is famous and will sold off early?

    Foodees : Possible.. ^^ I guess that is the only place you need to book for their curry..lol
