Malaysia is one country where you will find no trouble getting delicious foods from around the world. And even with the vast numbers of restaurants to choose from, there are still many more yet to be discovered, such as Yee Wen’s Tom Yam Thai Foods in Kepong. I’ve got to say, I wouldn’t know this place even existed until VK told me about it. So much so for a girl who had lived here for most of my life.
I find it quite unusual to find tempura-styled dish in a Thai restaurant. I mean, is this a Japanese dish or a Jap-made-Thai dish. Can anyone help me with this? This dish is priced at RM15.
Ran by a group of Thais, we are sure that we are being served with true Thai foods. Thai food is known to be spicy and sourish. So, your meal would not be complete if you did not order their famous dish, Tom Yum. Feeling rather curious with the quality and freshness of their food, we ordered seafood tom yum. One thing that surprises us, is that, not only their seafood is fresh, they actually uses sea prawns. I got to say, it is not easy to find restaurants serving sea prawns, let alone fresh ones. This dish doesn’t comes cheap though as it is priced at RM20 for a small pot.
The fried omelette is a let down as it is way too oily to our likings. Nevertheless, this is a fine dish. RM8.
Tin Tin is one refreshing drink that you must try. Don’t follow me by ordering my longan drink. It is not bad though, but Tin Tin drink is much better. Both are priced at RM3 per glass.
This restaurant is not difficult to find, if you are a long-time resident of Kepong Baru.
