I have to admit that I never ever thought of visiting Kuantan at all. To me, Kuantan is just a stop to get to Cherating, Tasik Kenyir, and other attraction on the northen east of Peninsula Malaysia. This year, we decided to visit the popular place to watch the sunrise, Bukit Panorama, located close to Sungai Lembing in Kuantan.
Well, it didn’t went well that day as it was the monsoon season, and we ended up cancelling our hike up the hill as Sg. Lembing was overflowing. It flooded part of the town. For those who do not know, Sg Lembing is located 40km away from Kuantan town. So if the news reports that Kuantan is flooded, it could be only Sg Lembing is flooded and not Kuantan town itself.
Well, lets get back to our food review. This time, we had the opportunity to dine in one of the best Thai food restaurant in Kuantan, the Wan Seafood & Tomyam Sara Thai Kitchen.
As access to a very good fresh stock of seafood is easily available in Kuantan, it is a norm for tourists to hunt for seafood here. Well, what other better ways to enjoy seafood other than to enjoy it in a Thai restaurant. The food here is considerably cheap. A lot cheaper than in Kuala Lumpur! Not only the food is very affordable, it is delicious. Curry Squid @ RM6.
Seafood Tom Yam @ RM6.
Tiga rasa style Siakap fish @ RM30. 500gm = RM5.
Lala cooked with oyster sauce @ RM6. They all tastes absolutely amazing. I think I don’t need to elaborate more about the food as it is better for you to come taste it yourself. I highly recommend Sara Thai if you are planning to visit Kuantan anytime soon.
