Yee Wen Tom Yam Thai Foods @ Kepong Baru

Posted by Apple Foodees On September - 13 - 2010

Malaysia is one country where you will find no trouble getting delicious foods from around the world. And even with the vast numbers of restaurants to choose from, there are still many more yet to be discovered, such as Yee Wen’s Tom Yam Thai Foods in Kepong. I’ve got to say, I wouldn’t know this place even existed until VK told me about it. So much so for a girl who had lived here for most of my life.

I find it quite unusual to find tempura-styled dish in a Thai restaurant. I mean, is this a Japanese dish or a Jap-made-Thai dish. Can anyone help me with this? This dish is priced at RM15.

Bibiwok Nyonya and Thai Cuisines at Bandar Puteri, Puchong

Posted by Apple Foodees On November - 11 - 2009

Bibi Wok Restaurant in Bandar Puteri Puchong serves a fusion of Nyonya and Thai food. They also serves Thai barbeque and steamboat on the upper floor of the restaurant. As we had an early dinner, we opt to have the chef to cook our meal.

Fried Rice

Fried rice with pandan chicken served with fried anchovies, tofu, and kerabu. The fried rice was very flavourful and together with sambal, it gives an “oomph” feeling. Nothing really special about this meal, but overall it was good.

Thai Bar-B-Q Plaza at 1 Utama

Posted by Apple Foodees On October - 1 - 2009

Thailand based Bar-B-Q Plaza Restaurant currently ranks first in my list of good barbeque cum steamboat style food. Not only their food is good, their advertisement is too. Just look out for their video advertisement they show on the television placed just outside of their outlets.

Their menu is actually quite simple. It is the usual stuffs that we can get in any other barbeque plus steamboat restaurant. The specialty here is their sauce.

Thai Barbeque Plaza

The brown sauce has a “peanuty” taste. It is quite similar to satay sauce, but at the same time it is not a satay sauce. The sauce is served alongside with lots of chili padis, chopped garlics and half a piece of lemonade. Do feel free to add the sauce if you need more. I alone refilled my sauce 3 times!
