Champ’s Bistro at Centrepoint, Bandar Utama

Posted by Apple Foodees On September - 29 - 2010

It is not unusual nowadays to find that our normal hawker food sold at an expensive rate compared to the price they were, several years back. Not only the rise of the petrol price and the food shortage around the world has triggered the food price to rise, our very own lifestyle is to be blamed also. The younger generation hungers to be served with better quality of food without compromising the taste. And Champ’s Bistro at Centrepoint, Bandar Utama has not only set the bar higher but also it offers one of the most expensive bowl of prawn mee! Yeah. This is possibly the most expensive prawn mee that I have come across.

“Damn Shiok” Hokkien Prawn Mee
A giant bowl of golden egg noogles, juicy pork ribs and “king kong” size prawns in a steaming ocean of the best home cooked stock in the world! TRY IT!

Champs’s prawn mee comes with much larger prawns served with some juicy pork ribs. One dissappointing factor, is that they advertised in their menu that each bowl comes with three (3) prawns, however, we only got two prawns only. Looking through some other bloggers who had blogged about this place, Champs’ had downsized their bowl of prawn mee from 3 prawns to 2 prawns. Things are getting more expensive, I suppose. Nevertheless, a bowl of Champs’ Damn Shiok Hokkien Prawn Mee is priced at RM20.90.

Tom Yam

Tom Yam possess a sweet, sourish and spicy taste and is usually cook with either chicken or seafood. Wanting a more money-worth dish, I ordered the Tom Yam Mee Hoon with seafood.

Thai Bar-B-Q Plaza at 1 Utama

Posted by Apple Foodees On October - 1 - 2009

Thailand based Bar-B-Q Plaza Restaurant currently ranks first in my list of good barbeque cum steamboat style food. Not only their food is good, their advertisement is too. Just look out for their video advertisement they show on the television placed just outside of their outlets.

Their menu is actually quite simple. It is the usual stuffs that we can get in any other barbeque plus steamboat restaurant. The specialty here is their sauce.

Thai Barbeque Plaza

The brown sauce has a “peanuty” taste. It is quite similar to satay sauce, but at the same time it is not a satay sauce. The sauce is served alongside with lots of chili padis, chopped garlics and half a piece of lemonade. Do feel free to add the sauce if you need more. I alone refilled my sauce 3 times!
