What time do you normally wake up on Sundays? 9am? 10am? Or 12pm?
Whether you plan to wake up early or late and are planning to skip breakfast and go straight for lunch (or brunch as many calls it), you should check out Epic Brunch at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside.
How epic, you asked?
Very epic. Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside did not simply come out with a name for their buffet brunch without thinking it through but is actually making it sure that the brunch it is serving will be epic.
There is free flow champagne. Yes, you read it right. FREE FLOW CHAMPAGNE.
I cannot think of any other buffet which serves free flow champagne, let alone champagne. If you found any, please let me know. On a side note – Aoki-Tei do serve sake in its buffet menu. But that’s about it, only sake / rice wine.
A bottle of champagne is certainly not cheap and good ones could cost a few hundreds of ringgits. What we had that afternoon was Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte – Cuvee Speciale 2005. I don’t really drink, but it was a refined and elegant drink.
You should be happy to know that this Epic Brunch comes with an array of premium foods. King Crab legs, whole Spanner crabs, Yabbies, Mud Crabs, Oysters, Black Mussels, Salmon (both sashimi, smoked and cooked ones) are just some of the ‘epic’ food here. Scallops and whole Barramundi are available as well.
There are also different cuts of lamb, beef and chicken, all of which are freshly grilled on the spot. The meats were not marinated, but you could choose any sauce from the sauce trays and bottles to go with your meat.
Even dim sum are made with premium ingredients. Oysters dim sum and scallop with prawn siu mai are some of the epic dim sum they have here.
As you enjoy your epic brunch, you would be entertained by a live band and deejay, playing some of the most catchy songs.
At one point, the deejay was playing Mark Ronson’s ft Bruno Mars song, “Uptown Funk” and the staffs of Epic Brunch started dancing. What came next completely blown me away. Each staff were carrying a plate of lobsters as they dance around the table.
The freshly cooked lobsters were served directly on each person, making sure that each person gets half portion each.
Just when I thought that, that was it, the deejay started playing “Uptown Funk” again. This time, the waiter and waitress came with plates of gigantic fresh water prawns. Epic, isn’t it.
Desserts were served separately in an air-conditioned Walk-in Dessert Room. Cakes, ice creams, popcorns, fruits, chocolate fountain; you name it, they have it.
There is just too much for me to share them all here. You may visit VK’s site here for a more complete review.
