Italiannies had began to roll out their new menu starting January 11, 2017, which features fresh combination of classic favorites and some new mouth watering dishes at The Garden’s outlet. The same new menu will be also be introduced at their other seven branches progressively.
There are six new additions to their menu and we had the chance to some of them. We had the Bruschetta which is made of Tuscan bread topped with truffle, chickpea puree and sauteed mushrooms. This earthy flavored bruschetta comes in two different sizes and the Regular @ RM25.00 comes in 3 pieces while the Abbondanza @ RM48.00 comes in 5 pieces.
Carbonara is an Italian pasta dish, normally made with eggs, cheese, bacon and black pepper and Italiannies is making a twist to this traditional recipe by introducing the Carbonara Pizza @ RM42.00. This 8-inch pizza is a new addition to Italiannies’ menu and is thin-crusted with toppings consisting of white sauce, smoked duck bacon with Pecorino and Mozarella Cheese and egg.
The Classic Roman Marinated Rack of Lamb @ RM78.00 is also a new item on the menu. The rack of lamb was in marinated in classic Roman-style and was then grilled to the doneness of your choosing – best is medium raw and served with spinach cream and mashed potatoes with parmagiana sauce. Since our lamb was cooked medium raw, it was pink and slightly bloody in the middle. This is easily the best dish of the night.
The Pannacota @ RM19.00 is the new addition to the dessert menu. We were told that a good Italian vanilla custard / pannacota should be able to wobble without loosing its shape or breaking apart. We tried wobbling it as fast as we can and still the pannacota still look the same. This dessert may look simple but there’s a lot of skill and practice to make the perfect pannacota and Italiannies definitely delivers on this one.
Italiannies’ Old Menu
Traditional Italian food are meant to be shared and since there were the 10 of us, we had the chance to also try some of the other items that Italiannies had maintain in their menu. All the changes in their menu are based on the feedback of the customers and regularly updated to suit the customers taste. The Spinach and Artichoke Formaggio @ RM33.70 is basically spinach, artichoke and mushrooms in a creamy blend of fresh cheeses, topped with sun-dried tomatoes and served with toasted garlic bread.
Sicilian Chicken @ RM34.85 (Regular) – marinated diced chicken breast, mango, red grapes and walnuts, tossed in Sicilian dressing in crisp romaine lettuce.
Fiorentina Pepperoni @ 48.35 – Pomodoro sauce, pepperoni, baby spinach, quail eggs and Mozarella cheese.
Seafood Cioppino @ RM60.00 – mussels, calamari, clams and prawns sauteed in white sauce and tossed in linguine with marinara sauce.
Deep Fried Seafood @ RM75.00 – baby calamari, tiger prawn and soft shell crab deep-fried with pesto dipping on the side, served with mixed salad @ RM75.00.
Classic Roman Seafood Carbonara @ RM52.00 – a classic roman style seafood carbonara with egg, prawns, mussels, clams and spaghetti.
Angel Hair Arrabbiata @ RM23.20 (small) – Angel hair pasta tossed with fiery tomato garlic sauce, black olives and parsley.
