Sin Yoon Long White Coffee
The best way to break your fast in Ipoh is to go with a cup of white coffee and a local meal. Sin Yoon Loong house one of the best white coffee in the city, nay, in the world! The shop has been serving local delights since 1937 and their white coffee successfully put Malaysia on the map!
Hot and cold white coffee, toasts with kaya and butter, Chinese sponge cake, soft-boiled eggs and eggs on toasts will probably satisfy your early morning cravings. Just be gentle pushing your way to the counter since this place is crowded with its frequenters coming here every morning for a cup of white coffee.

Nam Heong White Coffee
Perhaps its faith but the two most famous coffee shops in the city stood opposite each other. Nam Heong is the originator of the now famous “Old Town White Coffee” chains, which you are more familiar with. The white coffee is good too but what’s truly takes control of my taste bud will be the dim sum in the shop, especially the egg tart!
The comparison of the duo and the final verdict is still up to you my friend.

Sun Yuan Foong White Coffee
Don’t get mixed up with Sun Yuan Foong which is located right next door to Sin Yoon Loong. They are both relatives of each other but both coffee shops are separate and distinct from one another. Sun Yuan Foong White Coffee also claim to be the best white coffee in town.
I don’t really care who produce the best white coffee in town. Because good competition is healthy for business. When there is competition, people tend to improve and better themselves. There are at least 3 good white coffee shops in Ipoh and that is why people are willing to go all the way to Ipoh to sample these white coffees.

As funny as the name sounds, a bowl of tau fu fah will fix your craving for something sweet and warm. This is the perfect spot for you to try drive through as well especially when they can serve the soya bean and tau fu fah right to your car. Sometimes I wonder whether they are the pioneers of drive through in Malaysia.
Dai Shu Geok or Big Tree Foot Yong Tau Foo
Located in Pasir Pinji, prepared to feast with whole table crammed with noodles and yong tau foo.
The shop serves some of the best Asam Laksa that has a more pungent and sour taste compared the ones in Penang. Besides that, they serve a myriad of stuffed succulent and bouncy deep-fried fish paste.
Besides good food, they do serve blended juices such as red beans, corns and even dragon fruits!

There is little debate about where the best bean sprouts in Malaysia come from, as the throne will indefinitely goes to Ipoh, Perak! Bean sprouts serve as a crucial ingredient in many of Ipoh dishes and one that goes perfectly with it will be Chicken and soy sauce.
The perfect combination of the meal will be eating their perfectly cooked steamed chicken, kway teow with chicken soup and not forgetting the crunchy bean sprouts.
Tuck Kee Restaurant
Located at the same vicinity with “Lou Wong”, Tuck Kee serves some awesome fried noodles. Their signature dishes are “River Moon Flat Noodle” (hot noodles with a raw egg) and “Wat Tan Hor” (I don’t think I need to elaborate on that right?)
Usually before you start feasting on the main dishes, you can try out their poached octopus and chicken feet too.
