Fuel Shack Halal Or Not?
There were some concerns raised by a few of you as regard whether Fuel Shack is a halal restaurant or not. I’ve taken the liberty to forward your concerns to Fuel Shack directly for their answer. Yes, Fuel Shack is a halal restaurant and they have the halal certificate issued in their company’s name, Shalimar Teahouse Sdn. Bhd.
I’d dug deeper to check on the Trade Mark Registry and found that Fuel Shack is a trade mark registered under Shalimar Teahouse Sdn. Bhd. So, I hope this answers your question whether or not Fuel Shack is halal or not.

There are more and more burger chains mushrooming around town lately and Fuel Shack is one of the more successful burger chain restaurant for it is strategically located in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) shopping mall. In fact, there is another Fuel Shack located at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre which is located close to Aquaria KLCC. Contrary to its name, “Shack”, this burger chain restaurant is not located in a shack or look in anyway close to a shack. According to Wikipedia, “a shack is a type of small, often primitive shelter or dwelling”.
There was a very long queue when I arrive at Fuel Shack located at the KLCC food court. But the time taken to queue was a short one. Upon placing my order at the cashier, I went over to the collection counter to collect my order. You can actually view the way your burger and chips are cooked as the kitchen is located right behind the cashier and collection counters. At one time, the cook can cook up to 10 or more patties at a time which is quite impressive.
I am a big fan of McDonald’s Double Cheese Burger and in my very personal opinion, they are the best. So I ordered Fuel Shack’s Cheese Burger to compare. There are 2 options, either I buy the burger alone which costs RM10 or the burger with fries and a soft drink for RM13. I chose the latter as the burger alone is insufficient to “fuel” myself up.
It sure doesn’t look like the pictures on the menu, but it doesn’t matter to me as the most important thing is that it taste really good. It is just as good as McDonald’s double cheese burger. In terms of its size, Fuel Shack’s is way bigger.
If you are into burgers, do try Fuel Shack if you come across them. You may also try CEO burger or Fat Boyz burger, which offers a different variety of burgers.
In terms of price, Fuel Shack is definitely the cheapest compares to the two I’ve cited above. The good thing about Fuel Shack is that, it is halal.
