Foh San has “grown” a lot since my last visit to Ipoh, Perak. They have relocated to a newer and much larger building, so huge that they almost blind side their other close rival, Ming Court which is located opposite of Foh San. Speaking to some of the locals here, many of them recommends Ming Court. How different can their dim sum be compared to Foh San? Well, I don’t really know. But what I do know is that I had to fight for a table and fight to get the attention of the waiter/waitresses for dim sum the last time I was here. I am not willing to go through that again. I place more importance in getting to dine in a pleasant environment without having to wrestle for food.
Customers are now given more freedom in choosing their dim sums or other dishes they have here. They have a menu now, listing every single items available here. I got to say, this is a huge improvement because I was in the dark previously not knowing what Foh San has to offer. Now I know.
Service was also really good. We got our table in minutes even though the whole place was jam packed. You can find more tables located on the first floor now.
I guess I don’t need to go through what Foh San has to offer. I’m sure many of you out there knows better than me. Shown below are some of the items that we’ve ordered that day. Siew Bao.
Fried Carrot Cake.
Char Siew Bao.
Foh San has come a long way now since they first started in 1973. I do hope they would expand big enough to open another branch in Kuala Lumpur.
Overall, we had an enjoyable time there. Very much better, the food is delicious, the environment is great, really clean and organised.
