Chicken Hot Pot at SStwo Mall, SS2 – Petaling Jaya

Posted by Apple Foodees On February - 10 - 2011

Chinese New Year is not over yet, but I’ve already used some of my angpow money for my “makan” trip. This time, we had a quick lunch at the newly open SStwo Mall in SS2, Petaling Jaya. We found Chicken Hot Pot Restaurant, something new that we have not heard before.

Chicken

As suggested by the name of the restaurant, Hot Pot’s specialty is their Chicken Hot Pot. If I am not wrong, five spice powder is used in this dish. Very flavourful but it is a little bit too sweet. A small pot is priced at RM18.80.

If you prefer something else, they also have pork ribs, prawns, beef and etc. We ordered their pork ribs which is also priced at RM18.80 for a small hot pot. The pork ribs are also a little bit too sweet to our likings. We expected it to be spicy.

Note that, rice doesn’t come together. Rice is to be ordered separately at RM0.80 per bowl. There is also a service charge of 10% over the total bill. Our total bill comes to about RM47 for two person. I think this is a little bit too pricey for a lunch meal.

This shop can be spotted from the front of the mall, therefore, you should find no problem looking for it.

The food is not bad but seriously, the service just sucks. The waiter very blur and extremely rude. I don’t think we would eat there again because it is just not worth the hassle.

i have eaten at this place recently with a bunch of friends for a birthday celebration. we tried d chicken, beef, dinosaur (pork) n fish. my fav was d fish but most of my friends liked pork n beef. d soup that they added into d hotpots after we finished d meat was not bad for d meat pots but a bit fishy for d fish pot. didnt try d steamboat ingredients inside d fridge cept for d noodles tho…

price was ok for 10 pax was rm210 for food n drinks.

service was ok… tho one of d waiters doesnt speak english or any local dialects so a bit hard to communicate… lol…

  4. I have to agree with you. They will have to do better if they want to stay competitive on the market.

  5. I hope they take note of this and improve on it. They should train their staffs to serve their customers better.
