Char Kway Teow can be found almost anywhere in Kuala Lumpur. But good ones are really difficult to find. Recently, we tried the char kway teow at Imbi hawker centre. As we wanted to kill 2 birds with 1 stone – to try the famous Nyonya kuih (which opens at about 5.00pm and sold out in just a little over an hour), we had no choice but to wait for this char kway teow stall to open. We waited roughly for about 2 hours before the stall was opened for business at about 7.00pm.
Normally, you would be advised to order the kway teow with yellow noodles version as this is the version that is preferred by the majority of her customers. So, if you wish to order kway teow only, you will need to wait. We only had the kway teow only version and it wasn’t as good as we thought it would be.
Almost everyone there ordered the kway teow and yellow noodles version and seeing that made us realised that we had made a mistake. We should have gone with the majority and order the kway teow and yellow noodles version. In fact, some table even repeated their orders as 1 plate isn’t enough for them.
If you are coming here for her char kway teow, remmeber to order the mixed noodles version.
