Nasi Lemak is one of the favourite food of any Malaysian and there is no doubt about that. The star of the dish is the sambal aka chili paste plus some secret ingredients. It is not easy to find nasi lemak in England. The only cheapest place that serves nasi lemak is at our very own Malaysian Hall in London. It is priced at £4.00 which comes up to about RM24.00 for a normal nasi lemak. Well, of course it does comes with a side dish.

Being Malaysians staying in England now, we challenged ourselves by making our very own nasi lemak. It is not too difficult to get all the ingredients here. Just go to the nearest Chinese store, and you will have all of it there.

Roasted Chicken Thighs Recipe

Roast Chicken is one of my favourite English food. But how do we go about preparing this dish?
(Everything was prepared without any reference to any recipe – but it turns out really good!) First time always jadi.

First, marinate the chicken thighs with chicken seasoning, chicken stock, 5-spice powder, some salt and pepper to taste, light and dark soya sauce and finely chopped onions (optional). For better results get your chicken thighs fresh and marinate it for at least 3 hours or more for better results.

Placed the chicken thighs in the oven and set the temperature to about 200 degrees celcius and roast them until they are fully cooked.

While waiting, prepare the mashed potatoes, gravy and green vegetables to complete the dish. For mashed potatoes, boil the potatoes until soft and mash it with a spoon or anything flat. Mixed the potatoes with mayonnaise, butter and some salt. Boil or fry the green vegetables. You can always opt for salad if you want to.

Lastly, place everything properly on a nice flat plate and serve it warm.

    List of Ingredients :

  • Chicken thighs
  • Chicken seasoning
  • Chicken stock
  • 5-spice powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • Light and dark soya sauce
  • Onions
  • Potatoes
