Satay Celup Ban Lee Siang at Jalan Ong Kim Wee, Malacca

Posted by Apple Foodees On December - 7 - 2009

Kang Kung Satay

Satay Celup is one of the specialty in Malacca. Can you believe that I have never ate satay celup during my first year in MMU Malacca? I was very confined back then. I have heard about it long ago and never had the chance to try it. Therefore, during our trip to Malacca, we decided give it a try to satisfy our curiosity even though we were not very familiar with the place. Relying on the directions pointed out by a friend, fortunately we managed to find our way here.

What is Satay Celup anyway? No, it is not the conventional grilled satay but it is “lok lok” cum “satay sauce” steamboat. On each table, a pot of boiling-hot thick satay sauce were placed in the middle. All you need to do is just to dip in the skewers of raw or half-cooked seafood, meat or vegetables into the boiling satay sauce. Then, steadily cook it until it is ready. Constantly, stir the sauce as the sauce may dry up at the bottom of the pot.

Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh at Klang

Posted by Apple Foodees On November - 15 - 2009

All

Many people labeled this restaurant as the “Under The Bridge” Bak Kut Teh. But the truth is, it is not located under any bridge but beside a pedestrian bridge.

It is quite a quest for a non-local resident of Klang to find this place. We went round the Klang area and only after a few hours then we managed to find it. We almost gave up and return back home. As we had travelled very far from KL, we went looking for it patiently. It is located quite near to the Klang KTM. So if you can find Klang’s KTM station, just scout around the shop lots there.

The actual name is Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh. This restaurant is also known as one of the restaurant which offers the best among the best Bak Kut Teh in Klang.

Posted by Apple Foodees On November - 11 - 2009

Bibi Wok Restaurant in Bandar Puteri Puchong serves a fusion of Nyonya and Thai food. They also serves Thai barbeque and steamboat on the upper floor of the restaurant. As we had an early dinner, we opt to have the chef to cook our meal.

Fried Rice

Fried rice with pandan chicken served with fried anchovies, tofu, and kerabu. The fried rice was very flavourful and together with sambal, it gives an “oomph” feeling. Nothing really special about this meal, but overall it was good.
