Bumbu Bali is my all time favourite place to go for Balinese food in Malaysia. They serve very good mixed rice / nasi campur which is usually accompanied with a variety of bumbu. Bumbu is sauce in the Indonesian language. However, during my visit to Bali, we found find a nice cheap place and a nice which is patronise by locals for nasi campur. Instead, we found this place which sells home cooked meals. As it was quite late that night, we ordered simple dishes like fried garlic fish and fried noodles. Please ignore my blurry pictures as these pictures were taken at night.
Even though it doesn’t look very appetising, just by looking at my photos, it was actually quite good. The fish is not overcooked and it was very fresh. As for the noodles, it was fried to perfection. The cook is very generous with the ingredients. I guess that makes the difference. A good dish will not taste nice if you do not have sufficient ingredients to bring out the flavour and taste.
If you are like me, looking for food which are patronise by the locals, please share your findings at the comments below. I believe that good food should be shared and not to be kept a secret.
