Some of you who had been to Taishu Yakiniku, a BBQ stall at Taman Desa may think that Akashi BBQ is a copy cat but it is not. Akashi BBQ is another branch of Taishu Yakiniku but just with a different name.
So whatever food you can get at Akashi BBQ, you can also get them at Taishu Yakiniku. But whatever food you can get at Taishu Yakiniku, you cannot get all of them here. Akashi BBQ is still testing the market in Puchong, so don’t be disappointed if they don’t have some items here. They’ll slowly introduce everything eventually.
Akashi BBQ serves lamb, beef and pork. Among the three, the best red meat that night was the lamb. Lamb is served from a skillet which resembles a steel helmet – the skillet similar to what you normally see in a Thai BBQ restaurant. This dish is called Genghiskhan @ RM20.00 – spicy marinated lamb with cabbage.
This dish is prepared and cooked over the charcoal fire and when it is almost cooked, it will be transferred to the portable stove at your table to finish cooking. The lamb is savoury and spicy. If I ever come back here, this is definitely the one dish I will not fail to order.
We also ordered the Salmon marinated with garlic and butter which came in a foil for easy cooking over the charcoal fire. Since it is in a foil, it is quite difficult to know when exactly the salmon is cooked. So you have to base on instinct or better still, let the staff at Akashi BBQ cook it for you.
If you are not to keen on BBQ, you may also order their cooked items here. For your information, they also serve noodles such as Pork Ramen and Fried Noodles.
Risotto is also available here. This is their signature risotto with raw egg yolks. The risotto is cooked just right. It may look like porridge here, but it sure doesn’t taste like one. This item is currently not listed in their menu yet, but you may still order it.
