Steamboat Kitchen Lin Yuan at Cheras, Kuala Lumpur

Posted by Apple Foodees On June - 27 - 2011

I have been going around for steamboat recently and Lin Yuan Steamboat Kitchen is one of them. One this special about Lin Yuan is that, not only they serve steamboat meals they also serves chinese cuisines such as crabs and etc.. Lin Yuan also claims that they do not add any MSGs in their soup base.

We ordered a Set Steamboat Meal for two, priced at RM14.90 per person.

Lin Yuan specialty is their ‘Golden Pumpkin Porridge” soup base. As pumpkins are rich in vitamins, this is a very healthy choice for many. I really recommend this. We were charged Rm4.50 for the pumpkin porridge soup.

There are many choices of ingredients if the ones in the sets are not enough. We ordered their Imported Beef Slices, priced at RM15.00. The thinly slices of beef was quite expensive considering the amount that was given, but nevertheless, it was really good.

Wong Poh Restaurant at Bukit Mayang Mas, Petaling Jaya

Posted by Apple Foodees On June - 21 - 2011

Wong Poh Seafood Restaurant is famous for their crab and seafood dishes. It’s been a while since the last time I had crabs. So, last weekend, we went to Wong Poh. The restaurant was full when we arrive around 7.30pm due to the weekend crowd. We managed to find our table at the air-conditioned area only after about 15 minutes. So the wait wasn’t bad afterall.

We ordered their Cheese and Butter Crabs. This is one of the must-order item here.

The buns doesn’t come together with the crabs and must be ordered separately. The sweet buns are best taken together with the cheese and butter crabs. They both compliments each other really well.

Sen Kee Satay at Desa Aman Puri, Kepong

Posted by Apple Foodees On June - 11 - 2011

While having our dim sum at MCY just recently, we found another Sen Key Satay branch of at Desa Aman Puri. Here, the boss themselves prepares the satays for customers, unlike the other branch in Taman Desa, Kepong. One thing special about Sen Kee is that, they serve duck satays. It tastes almost like beef and it was a little bit tougher than chicken satays.

Their satay sauce on the other hand is quite ordinary. But it goes really well with the duck satays. Each stick of duck satay is priced at RM0.60. Other than duck satays, they also serves chicken satays.

It is not too difficult to find this stall if you are familiar with the area around Desa Aman Puri. It is located in a chinese restaurant, named MCY just next to the thai food restaurant, KhunThai.

I had my supper at Jogoya Japanese Restaurant, Starhill many moons ago. I didn’t blog about this place because I wasn’t too pleased with my experience at Jogoya. Our night started with a long queue, so long that it almost felt as if we were waiting to get our ICs done. But no, we were queueing to pay before we were allowed to enter the restaurant. Yes, I know that we have to pay first before dining, but the problem here is that, they opened the payment counter exactly at the time the buffet is suppose to start. For your information, the supper session starts at 9.30pm and ends at 12.00pm. We queued for almost 40 minutes before we were allowed to enter the restaurant.

And after going through the payment, we were shocked to find that there are more queues in the restaurant itself. There were queues at every single counter.

Not wanting to waste anymore time, we dropped every single clips we had on our favourite food. Sashimis are available at the sashimi counter. Here you can find all sorts of sashimis, i.e. salmons, oysters, cods, butter fish, baby octopus, and etc…

sashimis

The sashimis were quite fresh. The only problem we have was that the queue for it was way too long. And to add to our frustration, we even had difficulties finding clean plates.

There are also cooked food, prepared by chefs. The situation here is better as each trays were quickly replenished to cater for their hungry customers.
