Shabu Shabu Buffet City is a Japanese steamboat restaurant. Opened in Bandar Puteri, Puchong, this restaurant offers not only ala-carte Japanese cuisines but also an all you can eat Japanese steamboat buffet.
I got to say, Shabu Shabu Buffet City offers one of the cheapest buffets around at only less than RM30.00 per person. Well, of course, here you won’t get the awesome service and food choices like other Japanese buffet restaurants like Tenji or Kampachi, but only a decent choices of ingredients. All you need to do, is just pay at the counter at the lower floor and take yourself up on the lift to enjoy your “shabu shabu”.
There are several choices for the soup base. The ABC soup is one of them. That is a mixture of carrots, onions, potatoes and chicken stock. And if you like your soup a bit tastier, remember to dunk in more meat or seafood into your soup at the start of your steamboat session.
Plates of raw foods are transferred out on the conveyor belt direct from the kitchen. It reaches customers from every corner.
Contrary to what a normal buffet restaurant have where you need to walk and pick your foods, here all you need to do is to sit and wait for your ingredients to cross your table. But if you are in a rush, just order directly from the waiter and waitresses.
Although I did enjoyed my meal there, there was one thing that disturbs me. Customers were seated too close to each other. They don’t really have the freedom to sit anywhere they want. Even though we were there quite early, we were only allowed to be seated at one corner. “Hey, the food travels to every corner!”
If you don’t mind the smoke, the smell and other diners seating too close to you, I would say this is a good place to cure your hunger towards shabu shabu. If not, avoid this place altogether.

I love shabu shabu but I can’t stand the crowd. Yes, the customers are seated very close to each other. How to eat comfortably? Worst if one is a right hander and the other is a left hander. LOL.
