The weather was gloomy that day. One minute it was hot and another minute it drizzles. In short, the weather was not very kind to us during our visit to Taiwan. The only thing that brightens our day was the food.
After a long hot day visiting Taipei, all we wanted was something cold. Something to quench our thirst. And the only thing that came to our mind was Taiwan’s bubble tea and Taiwan’s famous shaved ice desserts 雪花冰. There are many desserts shops around Xi Men Ding. But the owner of this particular shop managed to attract our attention by saying “Selamat Datang”. How cool was that!
There are many flavours to choose from but their most appealing dessert to us are their mango ice shaved dessert. The texture of the ice were as soft as snow. And the best part of it, was that it is made of milk. This is one of the ingredient that I guess that causes the price to be a little bit higher. Further the huge amount of fruit chunks were given. And to be honest, I wouldn’t mind really if it is pricey, because it was absolutely fun to eat. It was very refreshing.
The mangoes are originated from Taiwan itself. Taiwan mangoes are really sweet contrary to what we have in Malaysia. If you notice, we also had bubble tea here. The bubble tea was hampered by the presence of the vibrant looking mango dessert. Nothing really special about the bubble tea though.
So if you are heading to Taiwan, do try their ice shaved desserts. It is one of the must-try item in Taiwan. One piece of advice from me, do check the weather in Taiwan before you have your visit there.

I will salivating everytime I look at those shave ice on TV >.<
