Temperatures in Britain are not likely to get higher than 1C and is going to be bitterly cold for the next few days. With temperature just above the freezing point, I had a sudden crave for my favourite, herbal soup meat, Bak Kut Teh. I know, I will fail in my attempt to find a good BKT here in Britain. And this reminds me of the day I joined VK on his food hunt for the best BKT in Klang, a few months back. On our search and after trying a few of the many BKT shops around, we finally found and concluded that this shop is the best (in our list - many of whom were suggested by VK’s readers): Ah Her Bak Kut Teh.
If you are a regular here, I’m sure that you will know that the crowds will start to grow at about 5:30pm and at about 6:00pm, it is not hard to find zero empty seats left. So what is so unique about this place that amazed us and had us concurred that this is the place that offers the best BKT in Klang?
Oily, soft, juicy and tender braised pork meat, and the broth, thick and flavoursome. It was truly sensational the minute you sink your teeth into the meat. The amalgamation of flavours of the many herbs used boiled together with the pork meat for many hours is heavenly delicious.
The soup is so precious that every drop of it counts. Ah Her BKT does not do refills unless of course if you order an extra rice. Only then, they will add an extra tiny bowl of soup for you. The price for each bowl of BKT is RM8.
So where can you find this gem? It is located in Pandamaran, Klang, on your left just after the police station as you come from Klang town.
It is hard to find a good BKT here in Britain. The only way I can get my BKT fix are the instant ones sold in Chinese shops.

oh how i miss this! i LOVE this bak kut teh! definitely the best i’ve tasted so far! must go back to klang again soon to have it
