The Manhattan Fish Market

In the last few years, it seems kopitiams are making a comeback scene in Malaysia. Everywhere you go in Klang Valley or maybe Penang, you will have no trouble spotting kopitiams.  It looks like there is a serious competition among all the kopitiams with which kopitiam has the most branches in Malaysia?  According to my own observation, Old Town Kopitiam is booming with success and it seems to fair better than the rest.

Relying on the directions pointed out by a friend, fortunately we managed to find our way here.

What is Satay Celup anyway? No, it is not the conventional grilled satay but it is “lok lok” cum “satay sauce” steamboat. On each table, a pot of boiling-hot thick satay sauce were placed in the middle. All you need to do is just to dip in the skewers of raw or half-cooked seafood, meat or vegetables into the boiling satay sauce. Then, steadily cook it until it is ready. Constantly, stir the sauce as the sauce may dry up at the bottom of the pot.
