The post-Christmas sales are now on! Ladies, it is time to get your long-waited branded Gucci and LV bags! And guys, the stereo system or television set that you’ve always waited for. All are sold in a shockingly low price!
I know, it can be very expensive to come all the way from Malaysia to London just for the sales. But, if you are a Malaysian studying anywhere in the United Kingdom and are planning for a visit here, do consider staying at our very own Malaysia Hall. This place only caters to Malaysians only so only Malaysians are allowed to stay here. So if you are looking for a cheap and reasonable place to stay, I would strongly recommend you to stay here.
In case you were wondering, yes, they do have Malaysian food here. Nasi lemak, rendang, sotong, roti canai and laksa are some of the dishes they offer here. A plate of nasi lemak here is £4.00 which comes to about RM22.00.
Not wanting to spend too much on food, I opted for the mixed rice with two side dishes at £3.40. I had rendang lamb and my favourite sambal aubergine. Meanwhile, curry kuah, sambals and cabbage are given for free for every set rice.
Craving for more of Malaysian food, we dine here once again the next day. I ordered the same set, but this time I got myself a fried chicken and the spicy sambal aubergine. I just love their sambal aubergines. It was spicy and sweet. I’m sure many of you out there will agree with me that nobody can make good sambals as Malaysian.
On our last day here, we had roti canai served with lamb curry. Their roti canai is quite different from the ones we have in Malaysia. The roti canai is round. If I am not mistaken, it must be a pre-packed roti canai. Nevertheless it was warm and crunchy.
This dish is price at £1.80 for two pieces of roti canai. Hot and warm water are also served for free. You can mix your own 3-in-1 coffee if you prefer your own specified brand type of coffee.
Alright now, lets take a look at the room. As I was sharing with a friend, we took the twin-sharing room. The rates are calculate base on each occupants. Each occupants for a twin-sharing room are charge at £6.46 per night. If you prefer a room by yourself, the price is about a pound more expensive.
The keys given to each occupant carries the bed number that you are going to sleep on. So you don’t need to fight for the beds. Besides that, towels are also provided.
They have all the basic amenities which I would consider reasonable for the price you are paying for.
They have an attach bathroom too! Note that, they do not provide bathing items but these can be purchase easily at the shops near the hostel.
Another thing that I like about this place is that both male and female rooms are separate. The third floor are allocated only for females while the fourth floor are only for males.
Note that, the room prices stated in this blog reflects the rate for a registered student studying in the UK only. So if you have not registered yet, I would advise you to do so at their website. Non-registered student pays almost double of the prices stated above. And if you are not a student, fear not. You are still eligible to stay here provided you have book a place online. Note that, priority will be given to students studying in the UK. There are many budget hostels around in case the rooms are fully booked.

If you are taking the Underground tube, stop at Queensway rather than Bayswater (contrary to what others suggests). Trust me. It is much nearer!
