Happy Boxing Day all. How is everyone doing? I am sure you are all preparing for the upcoming New Year celebration next week! On my absense on food writing, I went for a tour in London. I had an enjoyable time stuffing myself with lots of FOOD!
After a painful walk touring around London town, we went around scouting for a nice decent restaurant around the British Museum near Russell Square to dine that night. We finally parked ourselves at Denise’s Restaurant.
There are many range of French food and wine on Denise’s menu. Their menu is even published on their official website which you can select and choose before dining here. As we are on a tight budget, mainly because of shopping, we ordered their Chicken Cordon Bleu @ £9.95 in which a tax of 10% is charged.
Cheese and ham were stuffed and wrapped with chicken breast and was fried to crisped with dried bread crumbs. The chicken breast were beautifully sliced with its cheese still oozing out during serving time.
This sweet and tender chicken breast is best to be taken together with mayonnaise and tomato sauce. Just ask for any sauce, and they will be happy to serve you. It was so delicious that I polished my meal off within minutes!
Every chicken meal, Les Poulets, are garnished with salads. The portion for the salad was however too little for me. I would enjoy my meal more if they could be more generous with their salads.
Now, Denise’s are having a promotion on their set meal which is priced at £10.95 per set. It includes a main meal and a choice of a soup or salad.
Denise’s restaurant is beautifully decorated and very cosy. We snuggled ourselves at the corner of the warm restaurant, filling ourselves up with a beautiful dinner, away from the icy cold weather in London. It is very comforting since we had a long walk around town.
The waitress, a French, in charge of our table are very friendly and attentive. Seeing us struggling and taking turns to take each other’s pictures, she offered to snap a few shots for us. The service here is good.
Denise’s is open everyday including on Christmas day. The nearest Tube Station is Russell Square on the Piccadilly Line, Holborn on the Central and Piccadilly Line and Tottenham Court Road on the Northern and Central line.
