I have not been to Japan, but I am a huge fan of Japanese food. Last week, I was very trilled to be invited by CK and his wife, co-owners of the 100 Yen SS15 branch in Petaling Jaya to try their mouth-watering dessert, Snow Ice, 雪花冰.
Girls loves desserts and especially enjoy those which are non-fattening. On top of that, we love the cold ones. After a long hot day, who doesn’t enjoy an icy-cold dessert anyway? What’s interesting at 100 Yen is that all their desserts are non-fattening. This is good news for me. As a food lover, I do appreciate non-fattening food, if you know what I mean. At least I do not need to worry about putting any extra weight after my “yummylicious” desserts.
CK’s wife recommended me 100 Yen’s best selling item, the Mango flavoured snow ice, 芒果. Small cubes of local mangoes and mango dressing were decorated above the finely shaved ice. According to CK, these ice are imported from Taiwan. I guess the ice were made out of milk, the same one which I had in Taiwan. The texture is very different from the normal ice-blended you get from Starbucks or Coffee Bean. This is very much smoother.
The Milk flavoured snow ice is the other best selling flavour at 100 Yen. Tiny rice-like chocolates were sprinkled above the ice.
There are 7 different types of flavour which you can choose from. It ranges from the mouth-watering Lychee flavour to Strawberry flavour. Each are priced at RM4.90 per bowl.
Special custom made ice shaver machine, a cute Penguin, are use to shave every bowl of snow ices.

Other than desserts, 100 Yen also offers food products and household items from Japan. Hence, if you love Japanese snacks, the other alternative place to get your favourite snacks is at 100 Yen.

Now, this is a really nice Japanese styled curtain which I can certainly make use of. It is suitable for camouflaging my toilet and as decoration for my room window.

This is not Snow Ice, this is shaved ice…its is nothing close to snow.:-((. I wonder which if you have really seen snow or not for me this ain’t snow…Snow is dry and flaky where you literally enjoy the gist of cold feeling with a little moist.
