Burger King - England vs. Dubai price check.

Posted by Apple Foodees On October - 13 - 2009

Ever wonder how much does it cost for a Burger King meal in England and Dubai?

I took these pictures at the St. Albans’s, England and the Burger King branch at the Dubai International Airport.

If you compare both directly without considering the exchange rate between our country Malaysia with England and Dubai, the Burger King’s overall price for England is a lot cheaper. The set meals range from £4.99 to £6.49 per set. And look, Strawberry Cheese Cake is only £1.99!

Now, lets look at the price in Dubai. The cheapest burger set you can see here is the vegetarian burger, Bean Royale @ DHS17.

I guess, Malaysia still offers the cheapest price but there may be some difference in terms of its size and may be also in terms of its taste. I must say that the portions you see in England is actually quite large. The same goes with Dubai. (I peeked and saw a customer buying the burger - No, I didn’t buy any. lol)

Nikko Hotel 6 Course Meal at Jalan Ampang

Hotel Nikko

Now is the time again for us to attend Annual Dinners organised by the employers for the staffs. I am pretty sure there is many more dinners to come as we’re approaching the end of this millennium 2009 and welcome the new year 2010. I had recently attended a dinner at Nikko Hotel located at Jalan Ampang just a heartbeat away from the landmark of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and the Petronas Twin Towers, two of the world’s tallest buildings.

Name :- Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur
Address :- 165, Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Phone No :- (603) 2161 1111
Website :- http://www.hotelnikko.com.my/

This is the entrance ticket and I got this not so lucky number 0426 that did not win me anything. In every event, there is bound to be a theme for it. The theme for the evening was “Wild Wild West Night”. As the name goes, you can imagine the selective ranges of costumes people would think of to wear for the evening.

Japanese Buffet at Munakata Ramen Japanese Restaurant

Posted by Apple Foodees On October - 6 - 2009

Japanese buffet is quite popular among Malaysians. Munakata Ramen at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng recently offers an unlimited ala carte Japanese buffet dinner promotion. The Japanese buffet promotion is priced at RM60+ for an adult and RM35+ for a young person aged 4 to 10 years old.

Salmon Sashimi aka fresh sliced salmon is the most appealing dish in the menu. Well, I have to admit that I love rare salmon. Just dip it with some wasabi soaked with soya sauce and pop it into your mouth. Slowly taste the freshness of the fish inside your mouth.

Buckingham Palace, London, England

Posted by Apple Foodees On October - 2 - 2009

Buckingham Palace is one of the must visit place in London. It is the official London residence of the British monarch. According to a reliable source, if you are lucky, you may see the King going pass here waving at everyone. This is quite a popular area not only for tourists but it is also popular among the locals.

If you don’t see any of the royals, you may see their statute instead. Standing together here are King George VI (1895 - 1952) and Queen Elizabeth (1900 - 2002).

Look at the beautiful gardens surrounding the front of the palace. Such a beautiful sight.

Thai Bar-B-Q Plaza at 1 Utama

Posted by Apple Foodees On October - 1 - 2009

Thailand based Bar-B-Q Plaza Restaurant currently ranks first in my list of good barbeque cum steamboat style food. Not only their food is good, their advertisement is too. Just look out for their video advertisement they show on the television placed just outside of their outlets.

Their menu is actually quite simple. It is the usual stuffs that we can get in any other barbeque plus steamboat restaurant. The specialty here is their sauce.

The brown sauce has a “peanuty” taste. It is quite similar to satay sauce, but at the same time it is not a satay sauce. The sauce is served alongside with lots of chili padis, chopped garlics and half a piece of lemonade. Do feel free to add the sauce if you need more. I alone refilled my sauce 3 times!
