Hotel Nikko…
Now is the time again for us to attend Annual Dinners organised by the employers for the staffs. I am pretty sure there is many more dinners to come as we’re approaching the end of this millennium 2009 and welcome the new year 2010. I had recently attended a dinner at Nikko Hotel located at Jalan Ampang just a heartbeat away from the landmark of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and the Petronas Twin Towers, two of the world’s tallest buildings.
Name :- Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur
Address :- 165, Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Phone No :- (603) 2161 1111
Website :- http://www.hotelnikko.com.my/

This is the entrance ticket and I got this not so lucky number 0426 that did not win me anything. In every event, there is bound to be a theme for it. The theme for the evening was “Wild Wild West Night”. As the name goes, you can imagine the selective ranges of costumes people would think of to wear for the evening.

The event was held in the Grand ball Room which is located 2 floors up from the Nikko Hotel’s lobby. The area has sufficient space to accommodate about 100 tables.

A ‘Swiss Knife’ for all attendees - beautiful and useful door gift.

The menu for the night and itinerary for the evening by Nikko Hotel. There was also a list of lucky draw prizes available. Do read properly what was listed there. ^^

The first dish that was served was “Four hot and cold combination platter”. It consist of jelly fish, fried prawn balls, fish balls and octopus. It was a good start for the night.

Up next, we were served each with a bowl of soup “Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Cabbage Heart and Bamboo Pith”. Rather a long name named by Nikko Hotel. It was wonderful and well-cooked. I rather love this dish as its really like home-cooked soup.

The third dish on the table was “Deep Fried Boneless Chicken with Almond Flakes and served with Lemon and Lime Dip”. Nikko Hotel does really love to name their dishes in a long winded way.

We had “Baked Salmon Fillet with Butter and Garlic” next. This dish was absolutely flawless. No other better words can describe it.

The only vege for the night was “Poached Hong Kong Siew Thong Choy with Wild Mushrooms”. The hotel does serve food for vegetarians as well. However, this needs to be indicated to the hotel staffs upfront before the event.

We were almost approaching to the end of the menu. Up next was Nikko’s Speciality Fried Rice. Rather bland and needs more effort to be made by the chefs. It was not special at all and was rather disappointing as dishes served before this was pleasantly good with exceptions to this.

Next its dessert time. We had “Chilled Sea Coconut and Dried Longan with Lemon”

The “tong sui” was served with “Sweet Fancy Duets” ie Egg tart and some delicacies.

Some other view of the hotel. The night ended with some lucky draw events and the dance floor was open for all soon after that.
