The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

Posted by Apple Foodees On October - 25 - 2009

Coffee Bean

The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is currently facing very tough challenges since the mushrooming of a more modern franchised kopitiams such as Old Town Kopitiam and many others.

In earlier times, drinking a cup of coffee here is like buying branded items. But now, nobody cares. As long as the coffee is good, there will be people flocking to buy it.

Caramel Macchiato is Coffee Bean’s latest promotional drink. The Macchiato Coffee is served hot with some caramel toppings. This cup of coffee is priced at RM11.80.

Ahh….coffee. It keeps you awake and also helps you to keep going. Being a normal person, I never fail to get my coffee fix everyday. Well, normally I will wake myself up with a nice cup of 3-in-1 Old Town Coffee. But today I had an exceptionally long and tiring day from work, so I rewarded myself with a cup of coffee from Coffee Bean.

Hon Kee Famous Porridge at Petaling Street

Posted by Apple Foodees On October - 22 - 2009

Hon Kee Famous Porridge offers one of the best porridge that I’ve ever tasted. The self-claimed famous porridge hawker stall Hon Kee was set up in Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur since 1959 and one of their specialty here is their “Haruan Fish” porridge .

Some thinly sliced fresh raw fish meat was given with a large bowl of boiling hot porridge. Just pop the fish meat into the porridge and stir until it’s cook. This way, the fish will not be overcook. Very charming dish.

Saba Middle Eastern Restaurant at Cyberjaya

Posted by Apple Foodees On October - 17 - 2009

There are not many good restaurant in Cyberjaya. Many Middle Eastern restaurant started “mushrooming” around Cyberjaya lately. I found one particular Middle Eastern restaurant very appetising.

Their food presentation is quite bad actually but the taste is fantastic. This is the Lamb Kebab Rice. The long grain rice were very fragrant coupled with nicely seasoned lamb topped with some flavourful spices and onions. Everything works together and it gives you a lovely combination of flavour. It was magnificient. The price for this is RM12.

Lamb Kebab Rice

Chicken Kebab and Pita Bread was not impressive on the other hand. The chicken kebab does not go very well with the fries. It was somewhat odd actually to have the fries there. Nevertheless, the chicken kebab was good on its own.
