Malaysia Food Blog - Apple Foodees

I had seen this restaurant, Rajah Brooke Cafe being featured in the famous 8TV television programme Ho Chiak, so I decided to try the food out. As I had visited Sarawak just recently, my expectation for the 3-Layered Tea, Sarawak Laksa and the Sarawak Kolo Mee is very high. It will be desirable if they are able to bring the true authentic taste for both the Sarawak Laksa and Kolo Mee to the Peninsula of Malaysia.

Our drinks came first; 3-Layered Tea and 3-Layered Coffee. Both look great. Tea right on top, followed by milk and lastly gula melaka (if I am not wrong). I personally think that they did a better job than SS2 Murni Restaurant which I had blog just before this post. LOL. With regards to the taste, I feel that the milk was a little bit too much. Other than that, it was good.

Next, came our most awaited Sarawak Kolo Mee. First impression, it does not look the same, but it does taste the same. Sarawak Kolo Mee are mostly red in colour. Price for this Sarawak Kolo Mee with additional prawns is RM8.90.

Sarawak Laksa was served next. As they gave a lot of “kuah” we had to dig into the mee just to take some nice shots of the laksa. If you do not know already, Sarawak Laksa is entirely not the same with the laksa we have in Kuala Lumpur or Penang. Theirs looks more like our curry mee actually. However, they do taste different from our curry mee. This item is priced at RM8.90 too.

This is another angle of the Sarawak Laksa. If you notice, they do not use the same “white” mee and yes they do not have mint or sardines too.

If you fancy some food from the East of Malaysia, I do recommend you to try this restaurant out. According to the article from the newspaper they pasted in front of their restaurant, the owner is from the East of Malaysia. Well, I assume, he must be from Sarawak then.
